There were 23 of them, Kai noticed.
All were flying under the rumbling clouds. Even the humans, Yautja, and the gargantuan Xenomorphs. In these last few years, Kai had already come to know the identities of Generals. So he immediately got to know who was the missing one.
"Where's General Daenerys Stormborn?" Kai asked, looking up, smiling. "Surely, she didn't want to miss out on the fun, did she?"
The Generals looked down at him, and at the hundreds of undead flying up from the ground to join the Rain Slaughterer. They had made a wide circle of 500 meters in diameter with the White Serpent Tower in the center.
On one side were the six legendary Pokemon. Opposite them were the Generals from the Star Beast Brotherhood army. Behind Kai were the armored Generals from Eternal Snow, and in front of him were the wizards. It was they who hated him the most.
Kai sensed their silence and emotion and chuckled.
Suddenly, his entire body gave out a sizzling sound, hot, scalding vapors rising from his body. The heat vaporized the wetness off him instantly. Such was its temperature. The steam blurred Kai's appearance in the inky darkness.
And when the blurry sight vanished, a blue-skinned demon had taken over him, with a blood-colored jewel embedded on his forehead. The jewel was pulsating so much that it felt like it could pop out of its socket anytime now.
A long, powerful tail had emerged from his back as well. However, the red-white armor clicked-clanked, covering it entirely.
"What are we waiting for?" Kai asked, a familiar thrill taking over his heart. He licked his lips, and a helmet manifested on his head, his eyes glowing red behind the eye slits. "Get on with it," he spat, the undead howling and growling in the background. "I have other matters to attend to."
Sheets of rain poured, darkening the already darkened sight. The occasional flashes of lightning lit up the sky, letting Kai see the faces of the Generals.
It was then he noticed something odd.
It was hard to read the faces of Yautja, Xenomorphs, and armored warriors. But the wizards and Pokemon were more open about their emotions.
And, as a white-purple bolt of lightning slithered among the clouds, Kai saw a mocking smile on their faces.
"Attack." The word arrived from somewhere afar, from beyond the clouds, and boomed in Kai's ears.
All hell went loose in a fraction of a moment.
Pokemon Xerneas' antlers lit up with the colors of the rainbow, and a colossal shadow of a moon appeared behind it. Mana gathered in front of it, becoming a purple ball of chaotic energy, and it fired it at Kai with a speed that was hard to follow with the naked eye.
Moonblast!
Rayquaza fired a multi-colored dragon-shaped beam of energy that was faster than even the Moonblast.
Dragon Pulse!
Suicune's entire body lit up with cyan color, and it boomed out with a freezing gale that hurled itself toward Kai.
Blizzard!
Ho-oh flapped its mighty wings, and the feathers on those wings began burning up with an orange-rosy flame. With another powerful flap, it shot out those flames like a flaming pillar descending from the sky.
Sacred Fire!
Pokemon Lugia's eyes had already shone blue 5 minutes ago. As all his brethren attacked, a bolt of lightning suddenly lunged out of the clouds and hacked at Kai.
Future Sight!
Registeel put its arms together, forming a silver ball of energy. Then, with a resounding bang, the ball burst apart, firing a silver beam at the target.
Flash Cannon!
Instincts were useless, Kai knew. He knew where to go, how to go, and when to go. He knew what he must do to avoid it as well. It was just these were Generals, not pathetic worms. Clearly, they were acting as the long-distance attackers in this group of Generals. Moreover, their attacks were so powerful and fast that he wasn't sure he could dodge them all and still come out unscathed.
But this wasn't all. These attacks were just the beginning.
Not even a moment had passed since the Pokemon had attacked, when Kai sensed the two Yautja vanishing from the sky, obviously using their invisible cloaking ability. The 3 colossal Xenomorphs growled, hurling their massive bodies to the position where Kai would appear if he were to dodge the Pokemon's attacks.
General Eloise, the android Xenomorph, grinned and shot toward Kai, as all attacks were useless against her.
The Generals from the Eternal Snow army flew down to tackle the incoming army of undead, butchering the very first abominations they met.
Only the wizards kept themselves rooted to their place in the sky. But they weren't idling away their time, either. Not at all.
A buzz had already taken over the booming noise of a downpour. Endless chants were coming out of their mouths, their wands snaking left and right as they cast a single spell.
One Spell. Just One.
One hideous spell cast by 6 General-level wizards. Voldemort, Severus Snape, Lily Potter, Alastor Moody, Hermione Granger, and Grindelwald all had one job in this incursion.
300 years were enough to know one's enemy. One just had to look at the technology created by Kai to know that he wasn't just a brute killer. It was his mind that dictated his victories and survival.
What all Generals feared—yes, feared—were Kai's immense capabilities to turn all adversities into opportunities. He was just too fast and extraordinarily unpredictable. No human or ordinary lifeform could act the way Kai did during a battle. It was as if his brain wasn't just a brain, but a computing machine.
So, if one truly wanted Kai to die, one must compromise his mind first.
"LEGILIMENS!!!"
The sound tore through the space.
These six were all extremely powerful wizards and witches, and they neither needed a wand nor spoken words to cast a spell. For them to use both, and with such intensity, what were they trying to do? What were they hoping to achieve?
Just as the six Generals of the Death Eaters' army cast this familiar, but minutely different, spell, Kai's eyes behind the helmet fazed as if he had lost the sense of presence in this world.
Over 300 years worth of memories raged havoc in Kai's mind, his thoughts bubbling up with a will of their own.
Impossible! One part of Kai's mind exclaimed, sensing the hideous onslaught of his own memories and thoughts. How can they… How did they combine the spell?! Is it even plausible?!
Despite not having a true structure to defend against Legilimency, Kai didn't fear this spell. Even if cast by a General amid a fight, he didn't necessarily have to be worried about it. Not because he could instantly resolve the situation using Occlumency, but because his mind was just too powerful for the wizards.
Yet, the moment this Legilimens spell hit him, Kai knew it was different. It wasn't just six wizards attacking him simultaneously. The potency of their spells had combined, increasing each spell by at least 10 folds.
This meant Kai wasn't just facing 6 Legilimency attacks, but 60!
And that too when he had yet to even move… when the other attacks had yet to arrive.
Rumbleeeeeee!!!
