Chapter 25 - Goketsu’s Lifeblood Acquired

Their journey after the fight was quite boring, even though they met a vampire who called himself Pureblood. He was even more half compared to his half-vampire.

After going around for hours, they found nothing remarkable, not even monsters that were good enough to be absorbed.

"Yeah, I give up, teleport me to the strongest monsters on Earth." Kenjiki was frustrated due to his bad luck in encountering good monsters.

Cyrene clapped her hands, teleporting them deep underground where a huge toothy monster sat on a stone throne surrounded by numerous monsters.

Kenjiki looked at the huge monster in surprise because the design of this one monster was the best among all the other ones they met.

Dude got so many long and thick horns protruding from his head making him think it was a hedgehog monster for a second.

On the other hand, the monsters weren't having the same feelings as him. 

"Who're they?"

"Someone is getting killed today."

"Holy shit, look at that woman beside him."

"We probably should kill that guy, and maybe Orochi would give us the woman to enjoy."

The monsters murmured and looked at the couple with a condescending look. They weren't putting the two of them in their eyes, because they looked too harmless to do anything.

"Who are you, Humans?" Orochi; the huge monster's voice reverberated through the whole place. "It seems that Gyoro-Gyoro hibernation made it quite easy for ants to crawl here."

"Well, who would've thought that there are so many monsters crawling here? I'm curious as to why Saitama hasn't cleaned you up yet." Kenjiki took out his katana and formed a blood spear on the side.

Seeing that Kenjiki was preparing to attack. Numerous monsters leaped from the side and bee-lined to the two of them.

"First come first served!" The frontmost monster shouted and spit smoky liquid from his mouth. "GYAHAHAH! The woman is mine!"

The monster laughed thinking that he had killed Kenjiki when suddenly his body split into two and the smoky liquid poured out from his body.

This scene caused the other monsters who had come to shiver, not knowing what had happened to the first monster. Because all they saw was laughter before the monster got split in half.

"I can't be bothered to care about you guys." Kenjiki glared at the other monsters and did a horizontal slash.

*Splurt*

What followed was a scene of a blood fountain sprouting from the severed corpse of the monsters who got slashed into two.

All of the monsters were killed, except for a huge four-eyed monster standing unharmed in the distance.

"Not bad." Kenjiki noticed the monster and summoned his wing to blitz his way to the huge guy. "You might be a good one to absorb."

Kenjiki swung the katana, which was blocked by the big monster. But then again, the real attack wasn't the sword, it was the spear that flew at the speed of sound and carved a hole in the monster's chest.

But instead of falling to the ground and dying, the big monster regenerated his chest and sped up his punches while packing more strength into it.

*Smack*

*Clank*

Barrages of punches and slashes collided, producing a weird sound to the people watching.

Kenjiki laughed with every swing, confusing the monsters watching. Even though he didn't have the sufficient strength to fight against the likes of Saitama for a prolonged time.

In this fight, his base strength was enough to overwhelm the other party. Kenjiki could relax and enjoy the moment where he could swing his sword around.

Shockwaves exploded with every one of their moves, causing the whole place to shake. The monster packed quite a punch seeing how it produced a shockwave.

But then again, once the spear had been strengthened. Kenjiki threw the spear using his mana at an even faster speed that the monster couldn't react to the fact that half of his body was gone.

"Alright, let me get your hard work." Kenjiki smirked and his hand pierced the monster's skull and grabbed the Lifeblood before giving it to Cyrene.

"Goketsu lost?! Who is this guy? Is he a stray monster?" The monsters couldn't keep their previous lofty vibe and shivered when looking at him.

Orochi looked at the corpse and was confused seeing that Goketsu; the monster Kenjiki had just fought, wasn't regenerating his body back.

That kind of attack that only destroyed the bottom half of his body shouldn't be enough to kill him. What's even weirder was that Kenjiki was seen eating the air.

Shock couldn't completely describe his emotion seeing what came next.

Kenjiki's body bulged, and his eyes became four, completely resembling the dead Goketsu if not for his body was still the size of a human.

"Looks like there's no need to exercise anymore." Kenjiki looked at his overly muscled body and punched at the audience.

*Bang*

At the end of the punch trajectory, everything had exploded to an unrecognizable state with some mangled monster corpses.

"Although it's not enough to win against Saitama, it's better than nothing I guess." Kenjiki waved his arm around, exploding more and more monsters.

"Say, are you interested in joining the Monster Association? I'll ignore you for killing Goketsu." Orochi offered while ignoring the destruction Kenjiki caused.

"No thanks." Kenjiki instantly rejected the offer and continued to clean the place up.

Orochi, who had been doing nothing but watching the whole thing, had no choice but to stop him. Because his ability was too dangerous for someone who opposed him. Because he realized that this monster could absorb the power of the monster he killed.

The horns on his head elongated at a high speed and all of them surged towards Kenjiki who was still testing his new power.

*BOOM*

The ground where Kenjiki had stood exploded into a million pieces. However, he was able to dodge the attack in advance thanks to the eyes he got.

Orochi continued to swing his elastic horns around, trying his all to hit Kenjiki but was all for naught because of the eyes and his agile wings.

Frustration welled up after not being able to hit or even graze Kenjiki. So he stood up from the throne and threw punches everywhere he saw his silhouette.

On the other hand, Kenjiki was enjoying his newfound ability and danced on the horns that slammed just a second late. Every one of the punches also missed the spot just a second later, frustrating Orochi even more.

Now that he finally had his fill, Kenjiki created numerous blood spears and controlled them using his mana to cover the punches he couldn't avoid.
