CHAPTER 13: A Clear Warning

The voice was too distinct and unpleasant. It sounded as if it had come from the opened gates of hell.

Aidan displayed immense strength when he threw the man back inside the room, causing him to tumble down to the ground like a heap of worthless sack of potatoes.

The man never expected that someone would actually attack him as soon as he took his chance to escape. He had almost believed he could leave everything behind and go into hiding until everything calmed down.

But who knew that a bigger trouble awaited him outside the room?

Compared to the other men in black attire, this man was even more menacing!

The military police officers inside the room were even more surprised by his sudden appearance. Who was this man?

"I'm asking you again… Who did you just call your wife?" Aidan's question seemed out of place. He didn't even glance at anyone else, keeping his eyes focused on a single target.

The frail-looking man looked at Aidan, who towered over him. When he saw it was another man, he sneered, "Who else is there?... That woma—What the f*ck!"

His words seemed to be cut off by a sharp blade, as a tremendous force struck him in the face, smashing him into the corner next to a wall.

The lower half of the man's face was filled with fresh blood flowing from his nose and lips at the impact.

The man hadn't even reacted yet when another blow followed. This time, however, didn't come directly from Aidan's foot. Instead, a hand tightly clasped around his hair, gripping it firmly before repeatedly smashing his face against the wall.

'Bang!'

'Bang!'

One strike after another, each one harsher than the last. Every time the man's face made contact with the wall, it sent shivers down the spines of everyone inside the room.

"Please, please spare me…please, please—"

The man was in so much pain, he could only flail his hand to grab on his attacker's calf, begging for mercy.

But no matter how much he begged, Aidan turned a deaf ear.

In his mind, the man was not worthy of his mercy. The call he received from Avery was enough to shatter all his self-control.

Liu Yan was shocked by the scene before him.

He was panting uncontrollably after frantically running on the stairs. He chased after Aidan, who rushed inside the hotel as soon as they arrived.

It hadn't even been a minute, so how the hell did Aidan managed to beat the man to this state?

"Vice commander Liu!"

Someone from inside the room finally reacted after the shocking event occurred, but Liu Yan ignored them as he rushed forward.

Liu Yan screamed and hooked his hands under Aidan's forearms in an attempt to stop him from bludgeoning the man to death. "Stop! Aidan, stop it, man. You're killing him!"

But Aidan's hand seemed as if it were connected to the man's head, not moving an inch despite Liu Yan's efforts.

Glancing back at the people behind him, Liu Yan commanded, "What are you standing there for? Come and help me here!"

At that moment, the man saw someone come forward, and as if grasping the last straw for survival, he screamed, "Save me! Save me! I beg you to save me. Please, stop him!"

His throat felt as thought a knife was lodged in it, and his vocal cords were effectively cut off.

Trembling, he pleaded for anybody's help.

Aidan turned his head and fixed a terrifying glint appeared in his pitch-black eyes at Liu Yan.

Liu Yan nearly faltered and loosened his grip.

Sh*t! He cursed inwardly as his legs trembled like jelly.

Mommy, help! The devil is looking at me!

Aidan maintained his stare at Liu Yan, his deep black eyes resembling an unfathomable abyss. He then loosened his grip, causing the man he was holding to fall limply to the ground.

"–Ugh!"

The sudden loss of force in front of them made Liu Yan and the other men who tried to stop him stumble backward.

Everyone sighed in relief as soon as the horrifying scene before them came to an end.

But it seemed that they had let themselves relax too soon.

"AH!!!"

The man, who had thought he had truly escaped from death this time, received help from everyone.

Sadly, he had completely forgotten about what he had done previously to Avery.

At first, Aidan had intended to listen to Liu Yan and stop beating the man. However, as soon as he straightened up, his eyes were drawn to the bruise on Avery's left cheek, instantly reigniting the sick and wicked pleasure he felt from punishing the man.

"AH!!!"

Taking a step forward while everyone had yet to react, Aidan lifted his leg and stomped on the crawling man, directing the force on the latter's fingers.

Liu Yan shuddered and looked helplessly at him. "You promised not to kill anyone!"

Aidan looked back at him and replied, "I won't."

His response was simple and concise. He really won't kill anyone, but he will beat this man until he was satisfied, leaving him with only a breath.

The cries from beneath grew more piercing, the cries of despair shaking the entire room.

He was sending a clear warning.

No one would be safe after touching what was his.

Liu Yan furrowed his brows, feeling pity for the man who courted his own death.

Captain Kang could no longer stand it and asked, "Vice Commander, are we not stopping him?"

"Do you think anyone can stop him at this point?" Liu Yan's answer caught him off guard, causing Captain Kang to fix his gaze on Aidan's back.

He shook his head. "No."

It was too domineering. He had also been one of the men who had tried to hold Aidan back but, embarrassingly, had been ineffective.

They could only watch as Aidan stepped on the man's hand, crushing the bones inside.

"That's enough!"

At the most crucial time, just as Aidan planned to break the next hand, a livid voice resounded inside the room.
