The Scar That Never Heals

Phoebe had never told anyone how she got the scar. She never told Sophie who she once considered her closest friend. She even kept it a secret to her stepmother whom she thought genuinely cared about her.

The only ones who knew she had that deep, ugly scar were Melinda and Edward. But even the two had never heard the whole story on what took place on that tragic night. Phoebe couldn't bring herself to tell them the details without throwing a fit and falling into hysterics and so they never heard her side of the story.

The last time Melinda asked her what happened the night her mother died, Phoebe burst into heart-wrenching sobs until she couldn't breathe and they had to rush her to the hospital after she suddenly fell unconscious.

Since then, her grandmother stopped asking in fear it would worsen her trauma.

"You don't have to force yourself if you don't want to." He gently spoke, rousing her from an overwhelming rush of thoughts.
