Kaoma and the injured men were still a long way off from Maxixe and the others but they could hear the fighting up ahead.
"It's obvious that they are fighting, we are injured, we can't be of any use, we will only get in the way," said one of the shifters.
Another said to Sayid's right hand man, "you go up ahead and do some scouting, help them if you can and then come back and find us."
Eager to go help his master but remembering that he was giving explicit orders by Maxixe to guard Kaoma, he felt conflicted as to the right choice to make.
Kaoma recognized this and urged him to, "go on ahead, if you can be more useful to Maxixe and the others then I will be ever so grateful."
It was the worried look in her eyes that made him shake his head, "I'm sorry my lady but as much as I want to join in the battle up ahead I was given strict orders to see to your safety and nothing is more important to me than keeping my word."
