Moon tells his tale, Lying in every breath. The innocent boy lives his life, Orchestrated by the Moon's Lies.
It had already been three years since Alon had started to train under Moon. Though he did not know what the man's origin was, he had enough reason to trust him after spending quite some time together.
From the beginning till the end Moon would only appear when it was time for his training.
"You have gotten stronger, but it's still not enough," Moon said in a matter-of-fact tone.
Hearing his words Alon could only glare back.
"I told you before that you were a little special, which must have gotten in your head, huh?" Moon let out.
Alon's eyebrow twitched, and as he was about to jump Moon a memory passed by his head and he trembled where he stood.
"From now on, it all depends on you, I've already told you what can benefit or harm you. And also physical training won't improve your physique any longer so you don't have to waste time on that." Moon continued before Alon could say anything.
"Till now you have not stepped into transcendence despite all that I've taught you, so you'll have to find your path by yourself it seems. Our paths are too contradicting." Moon said while looking at the sky.
"Would you stop already? Drop the act now." Alon said in a pissed tone.
"For the past three years, all you've done is make fun of me, making me lose concentration, mocking me and now you are saying you've taught me all that you could?" Alon had the urge to punch the man in the face, but the memory surfaced again.
"You learned 'fire' from me didn't you," Moon said looking at the sky, still acting cool.
Alon was now on the brink of losing his rationality.
'This bastard calls that teaching with a straight face.'
Alon could no longer sit back and take it. He gnashed his teeth and attacked Moon.
*******************************
The sun had set and Alon was massaging his jaw with ice.
"You could have gone easier on me," Alon said staring daggers at Moon.
"I did go easy, if I didn't, you know it would have ended like that time," Moon remarked nonchalantly.
All Alon could do was to let out a sigh to Moon's remark.
"Well, it's time for me to leave," Moon said, as he got up and disappeared.
Alon was now looking at where Moon had vanished from a moment ago.
"Will I be able to save everyone?" Alon said to himself in a daze.
After resting for a bit he got up and walked back home
As he was leaving he turned back around for a second.
And behind him was utter devastation, mountains had gone flat, the pond had vanished, the ground was charred black.
He smiled a bit, knowing what would happen by tomorrow, and moved on.
***************************************
The next day he returned to his training ground. The scene of the apocalypse from yesterday was nowhere to be found.
Alon knew that this would happen.
Once he had asked Moon why he did something like that. He simply said, "Everything that comes to a tragic end, has to have a better beginning next time."
Alon still did not know what he meant by that.
"You've turned twenty today, right?" Moon suddenly appeared behind him and asked.
"Yes," Alon replied indifferently.
"I'll send you off to your journey today then." Moon let out.
Alon was taken aback but soon composed himself.
"Won't you be coming?"
"No, if I come with you you'll never get as strong as I want you to become." Moon clearly told Alon of his mind.
"Also I'll not help you nor contact you till you get strong to a certain degree after starting your journey," Moon added.
"Where will I be starting from then?" Alon inquired.
"The Demon World," Moon Said calmly and added, "Its difficulty will be enough for you right now."
Moon had an expression of anticipation now when he looked at Alon.
"I'll get stronger." Alon declared.
"I know you will." Moon smiled gently.
Alon was taken aback by the sudden smile. It was for the first time he had seen Moon smile in his past three years of spending time together with him.
"You really won't be coming?" Alon asked to confirm once again.
Moon shook his head.
He steeled his heart and looked back at Moon with determination oozing from his very being.
"Remember that you cannot save everyone and you cannot trust anyone. In this journey, from the first step until the last, you will have just yourself as an ally," Moon's voice was now grim to the extreme.
"I'll not try too hard," Alon interjected sheepishly.
"I can do nothing but trust you on that, Alon." Moon smiled helplessly, that's all that he could do as well. He knew that in the end, Alon will have to decide for himself.
Just as Moon finished, his body started to shine brightly. He shined so brightly that the whole world was enveloped in it and said, "This is my gift to you Alon. Survive so that my efforts are not wasted."
Alon heard Moon's fading voice while he shut his eyes tight to protect them from going blind.
Soon the light dissipated and Alon opened his eyes.
Where Moon was standing only a second ago, there was a window instead.
