The Red Moon

At a normal neighborhood a young man was getting ready for his school.

Brushing his teeth.

Putting on his uniform.

And getting his books ready based on today's subjects.

"Wait, wasn't it our turn today for SEGAK?" The youth muttered.

After remembering he got his school sport uniform and put it in a plastic bag then his backpack.

"And- done. Oh crap, its already five eighteen?" Said the youth as he saw the watch on his hand.

The young man quickly left his room and went outside.

"Adam! When you are coming back from school, please stop by the butcher!" A shout was coming from the kicthen, it was the youth mother.

"Alright mom!" The youth replied before he left for school.

On his nametag there was written his name, Adam Zulkarnain.

"Oh, you're the first to arrive again huh, Adam? Sorry for being late…" Said the slightly overweight youth to Adam.

"Its not a problem, Irfandi." Replied Adam, he was used to this as he was quite a morning person or just someone who don't even sleep much in the first place.

After a few chitchat all of them left and went to school.

After the first period is over Adam's class form 4-B was called out to undergoes SEGAK.

There was Bench Step-Up (Measure heart rate), Push-Up, Sit-Up, Measure Height, Measure Weight and Outreach Programme.

"104… 105 and do- you're still going!?" Shout Adam's friends as he doesn't stop even after reaching 100 Sit-Ups.

His heart rate was only around 43.

His Push-Ups reached 302.

His Sit-Ups reached 380.

And now he's measuring his height.

"Man, you're really tall" Said one of his friends who are helping him measure his height which resulted in 184 cm.

And now his weight.

The machine show his weight at 70 kilograms.

And now for the Outreach Programme.

"Your legs can't bend remember?" Adam's friend make sure his leg were as straight as the floor itself.

It was 17.

After that everyone return to class.

On the last period it was math.

While the teacher was busy explaining something Adam was staring out of the window.

He saw the people walking around.

All kind of vehicles on the roads.

Birds flying around at the bright sky.

And also couldn't forget the big red moon even though it's still morning.

… wait a red moon?

Adam eyes widen at the sight of something strange and he felt it was something unnatural and sinister.

But soon everything went back to normal when his teacher called him to answer the qustion on the white board, 'Maybe I am imagining things…'

He finished quickly and get back to his seat to sleep after getting too tired to think.

"Hah… this kid, and the answer is correct, anybody else want to answer?" Sigh the math teacher.

"Adam! Let's go play soccer this evening!"

Adam who just finished getting ready to return home just smile and refused.

"Ah, I'm sorry guys, I can't play today, I need to get something from the butcher near my house."

"Ah that's a pity, well good luck!"

They split up as Adam quickly walked towards his home meanwhile his friends is going to the local soccer field.

Adam's house was quite farther than his friends hence that's why he need to move earlier than others.

Adam walked through the busy streets and the crowds of people.

'Hah… its very annoying, why did this place seem to be crowded with far more people than yesterday's?' Said Adam as he walked into a pathway leading to something people called the Ghost Neighborhood.

The reason its called that is because of the eerie feeling people get when they're walking through the neighborhood filled with abandoned broken houses that emit depressing atmosphere.

The ghost in the name come from the rumour about people meeting or hearing ghost while they're here, and it also came from the various corpse that died from suicide or murder found in the houses, some say the lingering spirit of the dead still reside here at this neighborhood.

Also this place is being avoided by most people hence many streets animals and homeless people took this place as their own, I've always come here in the morning with some food for the homeless people and the animals.

'Everything is as quiet as ever but why does my gut telling me something isn't right…?' Adam was strangely paranoid after he saw a strange red moon and then observed his surroundings which is completely normal but when he stare at the sky he saw it again.

The Red Moon.

"What the actual fuck? Was I not just hallucinating or am I still hallucinating even right now?" Adam rubbed his eyes in disbelief as he open it once again to find the moon still there.

But before he could put more thought into it a strange phenomenon occured and thousands of holographic screen started appearing around him.

[Humanity, Earth has reached its limit and is starting to crumble but due to the interference of the strange energy known as 'Mana', Earth destruction was postponed.]

[Unfortunately, the produced 'Mana' is causing a world-wide catastrophe that include, First: the creation of 'Rift', 'Dungeons' or 'Gate' a portal that was connected to various worlds that usually attract invaders or the term humanity's known as 'Monsters', Second: the appearances of creatures only founded in myth like Dragons or the lesser ones like wyvern or drake, the greenskins like goblins, orc and ogre and also the mutation or evolution of any form of life that resides on Earth, Third: the changes in geographical structure and the altered nature of a certain environment.]

[The Game Master No.1 has given Earth his blessings and the creation of the 'Main-Server' has been completed. Each people will be given a Class upon the ending of this message.]

[Gods of the higher plane has taken an interest on Earth inhabitants fate.]

[Constellations from among the infinite starts is excited.]

[Ancient Beings are watching with caution and worry.]

[Game Masters are wondering which 'player' are going to come up on top.]

Suddenly before Adam could process anything on the screen it dissapeared and reappeared again but now he was surrounded by a countless holographic cards showing a picture resembling a certain class with their name on top of the card.

'What?' He was utterly confused and dumbfounded by the situation.

While he was having a difficulty thinking straight and its getting harder to focus and his brain is working too hard thinking of a worst case scenario like his family death when he arrived, he arrived for all of them died because of his incompetence, some strong monster appeared and kill all of them regardless all of this pessimistic thought was crawling into his mind non-stop until something finally click.

"I refuse to let any of that happened!" Adam quickly grab one of the robed card not thinking about twice and accepted it.

The monotous voice stopped as knowledge on how to use the skill poured into Adam's brain.

"Let's test this skill out…" Adam said as he take starting stance of running and pour mana on his feet.

Soon he launched forward like a rocket and he effortlessly pass through a group of Goblins and Orcs who got one-shotted by Adam who multiplied his absurd rage-filled strength and the amount of speed he was going.

While on his way he get a barrage of notifications about his kills which he ignored because his focused was centered around returning home to his family.

Ignoring the weak monsters and using his enhance skill on himself, Adam quickly arrived at the entrance to the path right into his house.

'What is that…?' Adam was shocked seeing the amount of enemies which are extremely overwhelming and he also saw something he doesn't want to.

"You bastard! Get down! Shit- its burning the house!" Shout a man in his late 20's.

"Brother…?" He saw all of his family members outside of their house trying to fend off against these skeletons.

"Fuck! How do I get through this?" Adam muttered as he brainstorming about the way he could defeat them with just enhancer skill.

He felt powerless.

He felt defeat.

He felt despair.

Is this how the apocalypse works?

Letting anybody around you die as long as you survive.

He could run away and left his family for dead.

But… image of his family dying because of his selfishness will forever make him mad.

He was so angry that he wish he could ripped out somebody's heart.

He was so angry that he will even fight god if it was infront of him.

He was so angry that he just decided to brute force his way into the legion of burning skeletons.

Suddenly the creature that return from death somehow feels the long lost or forgotten sensation of fear and the presence of the human who destroy their leader made them feels weak and they couldn't help but kneel infront of his presence.

Not only one of them but all of them including the elite monsters kneel before Adam and swore their loyalty in the language of the dead.

In the middle of the crowd of the kneeling burning skeleton there was a young man staring into his notification with an expressionless face.

The scene changes into that of a dark empty room with a single screen that was watched by a dark figure.

The figure smiled at the sight as the screen showed multiple people that comes from various countries.

Behind him there was a white board that have the picture of the people in the screen accompanied with certain words like 'Regressor', 'Returner' or 'Reincarnator'.
