Chapter 3: Medieval Era And Way To Home

Thomas was lighting laughing when he mistook Frederic for a noble since he got a middle name and a last name which is very uncommon for the lower class unless you belong to nobility or a family of knights.

Frederic made up a story where he told Thomas that he just inherited his last name probably from his knight ancestors whom he didn't know since it was a very long time ago.

Frederic also ate the food Thomas had given him which is hard bread with barely any taste and a cup of ale, overall, it was an awful meal, except for the ale that taste much like a beer but with a sweeter taste.

After he ate, Frederic asked many questions to Thomas, after some minutes of questioning, Frederic had enough and was grateful to Thomas, the guy also left later as he said he needs to tend the fields.

The moment Thomas left, Frederic quickly took out the necklace and fidgeted it all around, he was certain the necklace was the one that brought him here, and he tried many ways like conveying gibberish words and praying, however, after 10 more minutes, he focused his attention on the necklace as he think of his house and desire to go back.

To his delight, the necklace once again emitted a red blinding light as he was teleported back to his house. Frederic breathe with relief, he was finally at home, he then decided to change his itchy attire and go for a bath since he smelled very bad after three days in that medieval world.

Later, Frederic made himself food and ate quite a mouthful since the food he ate there barely got any taste and was awful.

He inwardly thanked god that out of all people, it was Thomas who found him and not some medieval bandits or criminals else he's dead and robbed.

Frederic spent the rest of the week contemplating things, first, he came to Earth to enjoy his retirement when he suddenly discovered a weird necklace capable of traveling between two worlds, it was similar to manga and novels he sometimes read when bored.

Next, he ponders as to what should he do now, should he relax here and never go back there again or go on an adventure in an unknown world fighting monsters and gaining fame?

However, Frederic doesn't like to wander in an unknown world where modern technology was non-existent. And while he had superhuman strength compared to people there, he was not fond of action and violence since he had lived in such an environment and doesn't to experience it again.

However, Frederic suddenly remembers that he originally planned to start a small business like a small inn for his retirement, but the amount of capital needed was astronomical and the chance of success was small due to the rapid advancement of technology and market competition which the larger companies dominate.

Frederic finally made up his mind, what exactly kind of business Frederic would start? Of course, it was a hotel, rather, an inn, he will start as a small inn owner until he have the capital to build a real luxury hotel that not only offers high-quality rooms and services but also some recreational facilities.

He might also take on other ventures if he becomes successful, Frederic feels excited. And knowing that the medieval age used gold, silver, and copper as currency which in this world is now a common mineral and he can get a lot of it, however, it was still a bit expensive for him because even though it's common, large industries still use it for various machine parts, vehicles, and weapons as well as manufacturing.

So he decided that he might as well look for something of worth to profit in his world while starting a business in the medieval world.

But first, he needed to make a proper plan, his inn location, prices, services, etc. To do that, he needs to go back to the medieval world and study whatever country Mr.Thomas was in.

In the following days, Frederic geared himself so that he can go back prepared, he even bought medieval clothing on an online site, a green cotton tunic, dark pants, cotton socks, and leather boots, as well as a gray fur coat, one large leather backpack, a winter cap, and a brown winter gloves.

And since it's medieval times, violence was probably common, he can't expect a police officer to save him, for that, he bought a steel long sword attached using a leather strap, inside his fur cloak there is also a secret pouch where a loaded Glock 17 was placed.

Meanwhile, his backpack was loaded with various items, from food such as energy bars, clean water, spices, and instant foods, to basic medicine such as antibiotics, paracetamol, and disinfectant. As well as a flashlight for emergencies, lighters, a booklet, a pencil, and many more.

His backpack was packed and despite its weight, as an evolved human it was nothing to him, while the backpack itself was very durable.

He breathed hard before finally activating the necklace, he imagine the outskirt of the forest he walked past before near the pathway towards the house of Mr.Thomas.

A second later, Frederic appeared at the place he imagined, he first observe his surroundings ensuring none saw him appear out of nowhere before finally walking to the pathway.
