By the time Lexine had recollected herself, the food had already long gone cold. She pushed all the food back into the bag and placed it on the side of the table. With one last glance at the meal that was on the table, she walked out of the room, pulling the lapels of Ceeret's jacket closer to her.
There was a small frown on her face as she walked down the hall. She did not want to make Ceeret have any part in whatever was happening to her lest she got injured. However, she was well aware that her silence had injured the redhead's feelings.
She sighed and rubbed her black locks. She did not want to inform Ceeret that there was someone targeting her when she did not have the strength to ensure her safety.

In someplace on the other side of the Gate separating the two realms, a man sat, holding a golden chalice half-filled with wine. He was seated at a round table that was filled with different dishes. However, his plate was empty and he gazed intently at the wine in his cup.
