Dragonball Rewrite: Kakarot- The Tale of Son Goku

Kakarot- The Tale of Son Goku is my own re-imagining of the beloved series. (Do read this synopsis because this might not be the type of story you think it will be or would like, this story is mainly for people who enjoy character based narratives rather than some op harem getting protagonist. Plus the first arc will mainly be setup and characterization, hopefully it will be fun stuff from there) I hope to change the story to hopefully better fit a long term narrative. The characters have been altered, so don't expect the exact same characters from in the series. The power system and scaling has been altered drastically, but I hope the story still portrays the essence of dragonball that everyone loves! Early on the only major changes to the story will be the exclusion of certain scenes and altered dialogue. Hopefully every main character will have a reason and purpose to stay in the narrative and still be progressing as a character late in the story. Though it will be retreading canon a lot, hopefully I can still make it interesting but I would recommend this most if you've not seen dragonball for a while so you don't get too burnt out, especially early on. The story begins with a short flashback, Original Dragonball, DragonballZ, Dragonball Super/Gt and finally a mixture of my own ideas, Heroes and noncanon elements. The story has been changed to hopefully all lead into the final arc smoothly. Do know that I will focus on the characters and story more than the action, though obviously it will still have an obscene amount of action. It is written in a way to enjoy and take slowly, if I believe there are parts that are not important to the overall story or characters then I will mention that in the story as I write it. I originally planned this to be an Original Character lead story, but the more I wrote the more I wanted to focus on the side characters. The one downside to an Oc story is that focus on other characters can be very jarring when the entire appeal of said story is the Oc. Plus it always feels weird when an Oc is planted in dragonball, I want to try and make the narrative as digestible and cohesive as possible. I am in no way insinuating I am at all better than Toriyama or his editors and writing. This is simply a passion based project that I am doing for fun. Although this is my first piece of literature I have ever written, I sincerely hope you enjoy!
