Letter from the mansion

It was a beautiful Monday in May and the sun's rays outside poured the whole city into a feeling of merriment and happiness. Finally, slowly but surely, summer comes and with it all the joys that await us in this warm period. After ten o'clock in the morning, the bell rang in my apartment. I walked to the door about opened. Our postman was standing there, holding a small white envelope in her hand. I had to sign a receipt of the registered letter, and when I took it, I placed it on the table and no longer paid attention to it. I didn't open it until lunch time. At first, I didn't believe it was a serious matter. Given my work and my interest, I thought that someone was making a good day out of me. But something told me not to throw it away and go where the sender of the letter invited me. I put on my inner voice and went to the agreed place with uncertain feelings.

Here is a transcript of this special letter.

Dear writer (esotericist).

I have been thinking for a long time about whether I will write to you with regard to what is happening in our manor house (museum) in Michalovce. I suppose you will doubt everything I want to tell you, but it is worth a try. Our employees, who have recently been working in the mansion even at night, have reportedly witnessed the appearance of an unknown woman. At night, one of our housekeepers noticed a strange woman cleaning up a guest room looking at furniture while cleaning up a mess of workers. The janitor remained in shock and could not say a word. The unknown woman was dressed in period clothes from ancient times and walked silently throughout the room, finally stopping in front of large paintings on the walls. She said something in about Hungarian and then cried a lot. This is what the first encounter with this night scene seemed like. After this event, our cleaning lady refused to do during the night shift. Soon a worker, who was also working at night to smooth the floor in the visitor's room, allegedly also saw an unknown woman in period clothes walking across the room and opening the door to the next room. Later, she allegedly did not show up in the guest room. Such meetings, with some revelation, were gradually described by a number of employees who, for various reasons, had to stay in the manor after midnight. If it were only an isolated case, that is, a testimony based on a single vision, I would take it as nonsense, that is, as some products of fantasy related to fatigue. But since almost half of our staff have already mentioned this, I have to take a stand on it, just do something about it. I would not want to lose any of the employees, because we will not be able to renovate and open the manor to the general public within the set deadline. I was thinking about where to turn and our administration gave me contact with you. You are said to be involved in such things and even interested in such a genre, and you have written several books in that spirit. I only know about you and I don't want to look any further for people who would help us with this. You are from our city and at least you would be close if you decided to take this case for observation. My goal and task is to stop this delusion and to stop wandering around the manor house at night. Our employees are frightened and are in danger of failing to meet the renovation plan. It is quite a lot, there is state money and binding deadlines under the contracts. Therefore, I ask you to stop by our office on the square in Michalovce. If you are interested and come, I will be happy to explain all the details about this matter to you personally. I mean it, it's no joke. Thank you in advance for your answer or directly for visiting our office.

Sincerely: The manor administration and the renovation organizer.
