>Chapter 17<

The boys rolled on the ground escaping from the attack. The ground shook intensely from the serpents attack. The boys didn't bother to stand up while the ground was shaking this much.

After the mini-earthquake stopped, the boys stood up. They checked behind them to see five small ravines formed in the ground. Steaming hot air was escaping from the ravines that were still red from the heat of the wind blade.

They quickly turned their heads toward the serpent. They didn't have a lot of energy left as they used most of it in that attack to escape. They only had one chance to kill this snake.

Not hesitating the boys started to think of a plan with the help of their telepathy.

Meanwhile, the snake was looking at the battered up boys that just silently stood there with a suspicious gaze. It wasn't angry, just slightly surprised. Things just started to get interesting.

The snake decided to entertain the boys by giving them time to attack first. There was not a single doubt in its mind that it was going to lose. It just stood there for a few second, waiting for the group to attack.

(…and that's the plan.) David finished and the rest nodded and got into their positions.

The snake was already getting bored watching them just standing there. It thought that they were paralyzed in fear so it was preparing to attack. But then, the boys started to move. The snake stopped what it was doing and just watched them amusedly.

The boys looked at the serpent weirdly. It wasn't doing anything, just floating in the water and staring at them. But they immediately understood when they its eyes. Those eyes with red irises were laughing at them. They didn't know how they came to that conclusion. But when they saw the smiling eyes of the snake, they smirked in their mind. Underestimating them was one of the best things the snake could've done. It probably thought they were interesting because they dodged its attack and decided to play with them a little more.

Looking at each other for a few seconds, the boys got to work.

David used a little bit of his energy and created little particles of dust. The particles were then lifted by the wind that was created by Phillip. He then moved them towards the serpent to obstruct his vision. Adding more wind, Phillip created a small dust storm.

The snake was confused. It had thought that they were going to attack it head on. The serpent was thinking whether it should kill them right now and be done with it or wait for something interesting to happen. In the end, it decided to give the boys a chance and wait. They couldn't escape anyway, as all the serpents senses were concentrated on the group.

The boys sensed that something was watching them, so they threw the option of escaping away. They knew that the serpent could kill them anytime if it used the same beam it did at the start.

David then created a bunch of rucks and held them in place. Patrick then created a fireball and threw it on the rocks. The rocks started melting. A few seconds later, they successfully created lava. Tim then sent a ball of cool water on the lava.

*Sszzz*

A loud sizzling sound was heard as the lava hardened at a very fast pace. Before it could be completely cool down, Tim quickly shaped the lava into a very thin and long spike. It black and was around 2 meters long and had 10 centimeters in diameter at the end pointing towards to the forest. The end pointing at the snake was completely sharpened with 1 centimeter in diameter. At the end, Timothy left the spike completely wet.

Continuing with the plan, Tim again sent threads of energy towards the river. Those threads easily integrated into the stream and froze it in place along with the serpent.

The beast still didn't feel any danger from the boys so it let them do whatever they wanted. Its scales were never penetrated and it prided itself upon them.

Timothy's energy was running out at a fast pace. It wouldn't even take 10 seconds for it to run out completely.

Phillip then dispersed the dust storm so they could aim the spike right at the serpent and so that he could save his energy.

The serpent saw the spike and started laughing in its mind. They wanted to pierce its magnificent scales with this little toothpick.

Jacob charged his energy in his hand and small arcs of lightning started jumping around it. He aimed the lightning at the spike and continued to send lightning into it. The wet spike easily conducted the purple lightning.

The serpent saw the small lightning jumping around the shining black spike. It was immediately alerted as it started feeling danger, when Phillip started to compress a huge amount of wind behind the spike.

Phillip then moved some of the wind, which was in the trajectory of the spike, away so it didn't slow the spike down.

David aimed the spike at the serpent's mouth. They were expecting it to be a little alert, but they didn't expect it to be as alert as to start charging another one of those red beams. They started sweating, but since the plan was already in motion, they had to do it till the end.

The same applied to the serpent actually. The serpent was panicking right now. It didn't expect the little humans to actually make it fell danger.

Phillip then let go of the compressed air, as the path of the spike was already set in stone.

*Boom*

A loud boom was heard as the spike flew at an incredible speed, lightning surrounding it.

The serpent also released its attack at the same time.

The long black spike and a large red beam collided. The surrounding energy started to shake from this clash, though the cash didn't last very long.

The boys started to feel dizzy as they had completely spent all of their energy. They slowly started falling to the ground. The last thing they saw was the spike completely piercing through the center of the red pillar of destruction and stabbing into the serpent's head through its mouth, before falling unconscious.

The serpent's eyes slowly dimmed as the last thoughts of regret slowly disappeared along with its life.

"Hahahaha~"
