The Forest

A day had already passed. Luna was in her bedroom and was quietly thinking about her newfound powers. She started to become familiar with her powerful golden flames but she completely forgot about her other fire-magic which was the white flame.

'What can these white flames do?' Luna thought.

The prowess of healing powers was reaching new heights and it was what she was anticipating otherwise she would be given hard training again. Akiro seemed to maintain the level of her difficulty's training regarding time powers since she was doing great but it could not be said about her magic element since she had just acquired it.

After Luna decided what to do, she walked out of her bedroom. It was three in the afternoon already and she wanted to explore the forest a bit.

'Only to the nearest parts, I promise,' Luna said to herself.

She then looked for Miss Zione across the huge mansion and found her in the drawing-room.

Miss Zione was busy instructing the servants to change the ornaments and carpets. When she turned her head, she immediately stopped her work after seeing Luna.

"What can I do for you, Lady Luna?" Miss Zione said.

"Uhm, I wanted to explore some parts of the forest to try out my other fire magic. I'm hesitant though. I want to know if it's not restricted," Luna said.

It was after all not her place despite how she sometimes treated Akiro as her equal and called him without honorifics which the latter didn't even correct her.

Miss Zione stayed silent and pondered for a while before responding to her statement.

"It's not that restricted but the place is dangerous. I guess we have to ask Master Akiro," Miss Zione said.

However, Luna quickly shook her head in disagreement. Ever since she was transported to this world, she found herself depending on one person other than her mother which she found odd.

'I don't like it,' she thought.

Luna would want to be independent for a while and decide for herself.

"Don't worry, if it's about my safety, nothing will happen. I'm sure you know what powers I'm talking about," Luna said.

She lowered her voice because they're not the only person there. The time powers were still lingering inside her and it's always ready for her to use in times of danger besides no one would be able to hurt her after she obtained an extremely good healing magic.

"I'll be wishing your safety then," Miss Zione said.

Miss Zione didn't forbid her any longer after she saw her conviction and the aura of a woman who's not used in others worrying for her. Moreover, she wanted to avoid disturbing her Master as much as possible since her purpose here was to look out for the mansion aside from carrying out his orders.

"Of course, I will be," Luna uttered.

They finished talking after that since Miss Zione had work to do at that time. The drawing-room was located in the far left corner of the second floor so it took some time to reach the ground floor.

Luna excitedly roamed to the garden and found her way to the forest. The lush trees separated the main garden and this forest so it would be easy for her to come back without losing her way, hopefully.

The forest had some huge trees that covered the sun so it was a little dark despite the time.

She saw some small animals along her way including the white fluffy rabbits she was familiar with. After strolling around, she caught sight of the light-gray furred wolf.

'It is Akiro's pet!' Luna said.

If she was still on Earth having this kind of pet would be considered rare especially how wild they could be.

The wolf noticed her and went towards her.

Luna was cautious but her worries were unfounded when it just wanted to be caressed. It wagged its tail excitedly for a second as if it remembered that she was the one who healed it. She bent down and massaged its head like a dog.

She once had a pet though it was a cat and it died a year ago due to old age. The wolf's attitude today reminded her of her cat and couldn't help but to take a liking towards the wolf.

Soon enough, they heard loud howls that got louder as time passed by. The wolf suddenly growled towards that way.

As if an opportunity had come by, Luna immediately stood up with her excited and curious mind. She badly wanted to try out her white flames and something seemed to push her from doing it.

Three huge wolves appeared with their long fangs that showed more when they saw Luna and Akiro's pet. The dark-gray one was familiar. It was the one she also healed. It seemed that it hadn't learned its lesson and even brought some companions.

Luna gripped her pocket watch inside her blouse. It was her life-saver though she would only use it if her white flames didn't work out.

Sure, she could heal herself but she didn't want to be clawed around by some ferocious beast.

She started to focus and called the white flames through her hands. Its warmth was entirely different compared to the soothing warmth of the golden flames though it reassured her mind.

Pointing her hands quickly through the wolves, Luna released as much magic as she could. Then her body began to be engulfed by a blinding light that made the wolves be burned by the raging white flames.

'The wolves turned into ashes!' she uttered.

The speck of ash had been blown by the wind and disappeared as if they didn't exist in the first place. If not for the remaining ashes, she would not think that they died and were only transported but it was not even an attribute of fire magic.

Akiro's pet stayed quiet and just sat there near her without budging an inch. It seemed scared towards the earlier events. Luna went near it and sat on a tree trunk beside the wolf. Then she started to feel the side effects of the white flame which was exhaustion.

Luna immediately healed herself with golden flames. Once the flames appeared, her energy came back to normal although she still decided to rest for a while under the shade of a huge tree.

The birds' chirping and the gentle sway of the winds made her sleepy but she failed to sleep after remembering the incident earlier.

'White flames seemed scary without control.' She thought, looking towards her palms.

If Luna wanted to attend the Magic Academy, she should have control over it first to avoid killing people accidentally during their training. It would certainly haunt her for the rest of her life if it did happen.

She only spent an hour at that part of the forest and didn't linger anymore around as she promised. Surprisingly, the wolf didn't get bored with her and stayed beside her the whole time.

Nothing came after them that time and It looked like that the animals sensed a great amount of magic power after she released the white flames.

'It's settled then, I need to go back,' she thought.

It would get darker soon and afraid that she would get lost again. She left the wolf after a while and walked the way to the main garden. The path she took was just a straight line earlier so she only needed to remember that she walked down the East direction. A stone was even placed by her on the ground in case she went confused on her way back.

When she stepped her foot out of the main garden, she saw Akiro with his arms crossed and with his eyes that stared intently at her as if they would engulf her.

'Uhm, ok?' she thought.

Luna didn't know why but she couldn't help to tremble at his gaze. It was the first time she felt his overwhelming magic aura all directed towards her.
