"I don't—" The man felt as if his heart was in his throat when he heard the gun click.

Jiang Yue threw the gun to the floor as it doesn't have any bullets anymore.

She looked at Yang Lei, "Go get me a knife."

Qin Zirui stared dumbly at her and then offered the Swiss knife from his pocket as if offering it to his ancestor. "I... I have one here,"

Jiang Yue grabbed it and without any hesitation stabbed it on the man's other leg and twisted it as though she was entering a key to its lock.

The man screamed, his sweat dripping all over his body and mixing with his blood.

She went ahead and bent over to whisper to him, her voice chillingly cold and very threatening, "You're lucky there are outsiders. If it weren't for them, your limbs would have been cut off by now."

The man's eyes were filled with fear this time.

What did they get their selves into?

Jiang Yue removed the knife and blood spurted out from the wound, The man anxiously said, "I'll tell! I'll tell you..."

"I don't know who ordered to get you killed— Please! I don't know! But I do know other information!" The man exclaimed in one breath as he was afraid the knife from the woman's hand will penetrate him once again.

"We were hired to kill you, but the one who talked to our employer is our leader. He's the one with the patch on his eye, you can ask him. Aside from that, another group of his men was hired to kill your father." Jiang Yue's eyes got colder when she heard his last sentence.

"Just kill me—" The man's head hung down as blood trickled from the slash on his neck.

With that one move, the man ceased to breathe.

Jiang Yue threw the bloody knife on the floor.

The sound loudly clanking in the closed basement.

She faced the three people who had been quiet since then. "I'm sorry you had to see that." She apologized but there's barely any remorse that can be seen in her expression.

Her tone of voice not even changing.

"Do tell me in what way I can return the favor."

"Go and handle your father's issue first. I'll send some subordinates so we can settle his transfer to the New Hope Hospital Immediately." Luo Zhelan suggested.

Jiang Yue narrowed her eyes when she heard what he said. She's not that bothered regarding her father since she had ordered some people to guard his ward in the hospital. Remembering that the man in front of her has the surname, Luo, she started to piece the things together.

"You're Luo Zhelan?" She asked in a low voice.

The man nodded.

What a coincidence she met President Luo on their way to Qingdu City.

Jiang Yue looked at the other man beside her as if asking who he is.

"I'm Qin Zirui." Qin Zirui immediately introduced himself and extended his hand that was shaking.

The girl, however, simply raised her eyebrow at him.

He took back his hand when he realized both her hands were stained with blood.

"Let's discuss the collaboration next time. As I said, I will return the favor, so please do think about it." This time her voice sounded less and more detached.

Seeing that she was about to leave, Luo Zhelan offered, "Let Yang Lei take you back to the hospital."

"Thank you, Young Master Luo."

Yang Lei following his Master's words followed her.

The girl walked ahead without looking back.

The basement was once again quiet.

"Fuck... what did I just witness today?" Qin Zirui cursed under his breath as he remembered the blood-boiling scene he just saw.

He looked back at Luo Zhelan who was still looking at the basement door where Jiang Yue just left.

His eyes curved, his mouth corner lifted and his expression is filled with mirth.

It was as if he finally found something that piqued his interest and he's now thinking ways to deal with it.

Qin Zirui shivered when he saw it.

"Fuck... crazy people go together."

Luo Zhelan turned his head towards him and his pretty eyes glared at him, "What did you just say?"

"Nothing... I said the two of you look good together."

Luo Zhelan nodded his head, acknowledging what he just said.

Qin Zirui couldn't help but be dumbstruck by that.

"Go and clean that up." Luo Zhelan ordered and left.

Qin Zirui once again cursed under his breath.

Jiang Yue went back to the hospital after she has cleaned herself. Her sister is laying in bed, asleep.

Staring at the girl's bandaged thighs, she clench her fists, fingers digging deep into her skin.

After all these years of investigating, why couldn't she find out who sent those people before? Now another incident has happened and she still couldn't find out who sent them because she killed the leader of those people in the fight in the forest.

Now she's once again stuck.

With barely any space for her to step forward.

Jiang Yue calmed herself.

She stared at the girl in front of her.

Her eyebrows suddenly furrowed when she saw some purple bruises around the gauzed wound.

It was far from the wound so she doubt it was caused by it. It looks like it was a bruise from being hit by something.

She never noticed it before because Jiang Xiu was wearing jeans.

She looked at Jiang Xiu's other leg and just like the other one, it has some faint bruises.

Her eyes turned frigid cold.

She folded the girl's hospital gown sleeve, there weren't any on both of her arms but when she looked at her shoulder blades, there were once again some faint bruises.
