Laura Smith is quite the sweet girl at home being loved and pampered by her family. Who would have thought that such a loving family had a complete messed up history. "mom, I want to change my wardrobe for my

second year in college" Laura said to her mom in delight as they had dinner. The middle aged woman, Whitney Smith, smiled at her daughter seeing how happy and carefree she was. Seeing her daughter this way always melted her heart and covered the guilt she was feeling towards her daughter.

"anything for my baby girl" the woman said and pinched Laura's cheek lightly making the girl flinch but all at the table laughed except that boy.

"stop behaving like a kid cuz I'm the kid here" Austin said while filling his mouth with food as if he had never spoken. His dad hit the back of his head and said playfully "be nice to your sister, would you"

The two started bickering at each other making the house lively. Even the maids couldn't hide their smiles as the daughter and son of the family started running around, chasing each other as they always do.

Mr. Rodney Smith held his wife's hand an squeezed it as if to comfort her. She looked at him and smiled and then turned to watch her children playing happily like kids as they ran upstairs. Upon reaching Laura's room, they both fell on the bed as they were exhausted from their running. They were quiet for some time as they lay there trying to catch their breath.

"you know, I will miss you" Austin said, still laying on his back. " wow, somebody is getting emotional" Laura said sarcastically as broke into laughter. "hey i'm dead serious here. How can you be laughing at this moment?"

"now now now... My sweet boy, don't be angry at mama" she said while pulling his cheeks and smiling at the same time.

"who wants to call you mama" he said with pouted lips. Laura's smile widened as she pinched him harder"look at you, being so emotional like a six year. You are already 18 so you should act as such or else your 21year old sister will be your mama"

"Hey leave me alone" he shouted

"now u look like a dumpling. Come, let mama hug you"

Not wanting to hear more of her sister's nonsense, he run out of the room." You want to run? not now" she run after him "baby, come to mama" Laura kept shouting after him "leave me alone" Austin was getting frustrated so he went downstairs and hid behind their parents who were dressed up, ready to go out.

"mom, dad, look at Laura... She's bullying me" he reported as Laura kept running after him around their parents.

"Enough playing kids, go and dress up we are going shopping" they were both delighted and run to dress up.

After a happy day as such, the family retired to their various rooms in the big villa to rest.

Austin stayed in Laura's room, helping her to pack her things for tomorrow's journey to college. Indeed he was really going to miss his sister as she was also his best friend.

He hugged her out of the blue and now, with all jokes aside, she hugged him back muttering "I will miss you too, my little dumpling" he was getting emotional again so he run out, not wanting his sister to see him that way.

At this point, she had finished packing and so picked up her phone and dialled a number. It was answered on the third ring.

"Mimi, what's up in school?" Laura asked as the call was picked "so you finally know to call your best friend huh? And u don't even ask how am doing, how heartless" Mimi murmured into the phone. As if she was never angry... The girl suddenly changed her stance to gossip mode.

"Laura, you won't believe what I'm about to say but I will say it anyway" Laura listened quietly about what's going on in school during her one week absence.

"some hot guy transferred to our class and every girl is drooling over him, even some of the guys are eyeing him" Mimi was so happy and Laura could tell from her voice.

"more hot than Austin?" she asked her friend since she once said that her brother was the most handsome guy she has seen.

"Austin is handsome, but this guy is on a whole different level" Mimi replied.

" Fine then, I guess I will see him tomorrow" Laura hanged up and relaxed on the bed. She couldn't wait to see this hot guy tomorrow. She closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Mimi was annoyed that Laura hanged up without a goodnight but she smiled, because that was how her friend was.
