Chapter 24

The atmosphere was tense at that moment.....

"...and why where you guys referring to me as Rose like as if you knew me from somewhere or is there something you guys are hiding from me... Did you never notice that I was wearing contact lenses?", Ann asked questions after questions.

"No... I'll tell you about the Rose stuff later but I have two questions for you... Did you ever have an accident and why have you been hiding your true financial capability from the world?", he asked as his eyes narrowed into slits.

Ann sighed and , she looked directly into his irises for a long time, trying to gauge his actions and words but he just blinked innocently, " My dad makes me wear them since I was ten and I got used to it. It makes me more confident and you know makes my irises less scarier", she chuckled and continued

"I removed them yesterday because it was itching and I had to do some surgery on my face because of an accident I had when I was younger.... My dad told me I was kidnapped and pushed off a cliff by some of the goons of his archenemy Killian...., the healing process was nice but it made my skin lighter and I had to use heavy makeup to conceal it", Anny concluded and heaved a sigh of relief.

It felt so good to let everything out to someone, with Cali, it was much easier for her to be herself, she fell on her bed and bounced. Cali followed suite and they burst into rounds of laughter.

"Wow.... That was... That was a trag....a real tragic story.... Did you happen to know the exact people that caused your accident.... I mean your dad might had made a mistake in his investigation or he was hiding something....", Cali said and Ann sat up. She was suspicious.

"Cali is there something you know?", she asked, crawling towards him and Cali had to retreat till his back hit the wall.

"No..no.. no.. I don't know anything.... Things might have gone wrong... You know your father might have made a mistake", Cali tried to reason with her.

He was initially going to tell her the truth but seeing the revenge in her eyes, he didn't have the courage to do it anymore.

"No.... My dad said I fell off a cliff, I don't remember my childhood memories and had to live a fake life and when I came back from the hospital... Father called me weak and coward.... He asked why I would fall off a measly cliff... I wondered why, why because I had great balance and stamina even at a young age but I could not remember", she said and Cali nodded.

"But if I ever found out that my falling off the cliff was not an accident, I would find those culprits and show them what he'll looks like... Because they played a role in ruining my childhood", Ann said with clenched fists, she needed to know what happened exactly but her brain refused to recall.

"I am no doctor but I don't think you should stress yourself out ", Cali said smiling as he hugged her, she leaned unto him for comfort and they laid in that position for some seconds.

"I have to take a shower first, I look like a mad woman or like someone released from a mental asylum", she said to his amusement.

"Nice outfit", Cali teased at the onesie she wore.

"What....how dare you tease me?", she asked, pushing him into a lying position, got ontop of him and ruffled his hair playfully.

"Ann open this door!!", Mr Williams shouted from the other side.

"Oh no Cali what should I do?", Ann whispered anxiously.

"I can hide in your closet..", He suggested

"Are you nuts? My dad would catch you in splits of seconds, just...just...just jump out of my window", Ann offered.

"Are you mad?.... Do you think I am spiderman or some superhero of some kind or do you think I am done well trained Mafia or assassin or a sniper?... I am none of those ... If I were to jump from her, I would surely crack some bones and you know your room is on the fourth floor!!!", Cali said infuriated but moving to look down the window.

"Open this door and stop being stubborn or I will break it down!!!", Mr Williams bellowed again believing that something was wrong.

Ann knew he wasn't joking and would definitely break down her door, he wasn't called DRAGON DON for nothing, so she did the last and only thing that came to her mind, pushing Cali off the window!.

"Ahhhh!!!!"

..... "Hello dad", she said sarcastically and he barged inside looking suspiciously around.

"What brings you to my room?, don't you know there are two ladies inside of this same room?, what if I or Veda was naked?", she asked and he frowned.

He glanced at Ann, then Veda who was just coming out of the washroom with a towel tied across her chest.

He looked away in shame and proceeded to check the room, them he walked towards the window....

"What are you doing there dad?!", Ann yelled in fright obviously scared he'll see Cali sprawled on the floor growling in pain.

She knew that if her dad found Cali , he would kill him in the underground basement but if she threw him out of the window, there was a 50 - 50 percent that he might die or just end up with broken bones or a miracle might happen and he will alight safely like a super hero.

"I heard someone screaming loudly before you opened the door", he said still looking out the window.

Ann wished she could have thrown him instead of her darling Cali out of the window... Ehm... No... Just Cali.

"Ehm .. no dad , I was just.. just... Amazed and screamed because she drew a tattoo of her boyfriend on her breast, can you believe it dad?", Ann lied while pointing at Veda who stood mouth agape. She winked at her to act surprised and nodd.....
