Ambush [Part 1]

Alexandro, Victor and Midas sat down at a table. They were enjoying a few drinks for the night. Midas was a greedy drinker and his followers were well aware. Victor, on the other hand, only savored fine wine and refrained from making the drinks get to his head. He had an example to set, and so he could not drink like Midas. Not even when there were no souls around. The rules were merged with his mind.

Alexandro had not opted to sit with the powerful men but they implored that he did. He sat down and listened to what they had to say. He had not once spoken a word about himself and yet Midas and Victor hadn't become suspicious of him. A nod here, a shake there—that was all Alexandro gave them.

Midas smirked widely. "Things are finally, ehhh, beginning to look more … complete!"

"Yes," Victor said, "and I don't think the Wizard could have done this without us."

"Precisely why I'm taking a massive cut." Midas giggled.
