Finding a Good Spot

Liu Xiaolan followed Village Head Ren to his home to borrow a few tools needed for digging.

Once she received them and was about to go back, Elder Ren came out of his room and stopped her. "Girl Liu, be careful of the Liu family in the next few days…"

Seeing her puzzled look, he continued, "I saw the Liu family running around the village like headless chickens today. God knows what's wrong with them again…"

Ren Lanfeng heard what his father said and suddenly remembered something as well. Before he didn't think too much of it, but after hearing what Elder Ren said he wasn't so sure anymore. "Now that you say it, when I was going back from the city Liu Weixin came back with us as well. Not sure what happened to him, but it looked like he was fighting with someone before…"

Liu Xiaolan thanked them and went back home.

During her walk back, she thought about what she heard and smiled a little. It seems like some retribution, for all of the bad stuff the Liu family did, fell upon Liu Weixin.

But honestly speaking she wasn't too surprised that he ended beaten up. After all, people who can afford mushrooms aren't fools. If by just picking random mushrooms you could take them and find someone to sell, wouldn't all villages nearby survive on mushroom picking?

Liu Xiaolan shook her head and didn't care about them anymore.

Over the next few days, Liu Xiaolan was constantly running back and forth between the village and Shenyang.

The biggest gain during this time was securing a safe spot to sell. After Liu Xiaolan went around the city, she couldn't decide where to open her stall. She needed a popular spot with a lot of people, but at the same time it shouldn't be a place where lots of different food sellers gather, since it would just bring her trouble.

It was only when she went to pick up her order from Shopkeeper Liu's wood workshop that she thought of an idea.

Liu Jiahao's wood workshop was named as Liujia's Wood Workshop, a very simple name but also one that could easily be remembered. As he has been in business in this location for years, for most of the time of the year he didn't have any issues with gathering customers.

Recently however, a new workshop opened nearby, and they targeted the same group of customers as he did. Because of their fresh opening and countless promotions, most random people passing by choose to shop in their store, while Liujia's Wood Workshop could only be kept thanks to the orders from old customers.

While Liu Xiaolan had no idea about how the business around wooden products worked, she still knew that she could help him a little, at the same time helping herself.

So when she proposed to open a stall selling snacks at his door, although he was a little surprised, Shopkeeper Liu felt like wouldn't lose anything anyway, so why not let her keep a stall next to his shop.

After all, if her snacks are popular perhaps some of her customers would come inside his shop as well. And he did like the little girl a little, so he agreed almost without thinking about it and asking too many questions.

With this cooperation with Liu Jiahao, Liu Xiaolan could finally put down a huge stone in her heart. At the same time, Shopkeeper Liu was nice enough to let her keep her stuff inside a room in his workshop.

Although Liu Xiaolan wants to cook at home and sell ready products in the city, if she had to move tens of buckets and a wooden stall back and forth between the village and the city, she probably would never be able to do it.

With the help from Liu Jiahao, she could now just focus on preparing the chestnuts and bringing them to the city. Everything else can stay in Liujia's Wood Workshop and she can just take it out each time she comes.

Today's also the day Liu Xiaolan can go to the blacksmith's shop to pick up her new kitchen utensils. If everything turns out okay, she could possibly start selling her chestnuts tomorrow.

Mu Yuchen turned towards her and said, "Lady, we can go now. We need to speed up or Zou Xinghe will leave."

Yes, another thing happened. A few days back when she bought another beddings and came back, it seems she offended this little fool somehow.

Not only was he unhappy, but each time they went to sleep she would somehow wake up in his arms the next day. Not only that, but the little fool even kept telling her that she came inside his beddings herself. What a joke!

Aside from that, Mu Yuchen also no longer wanted to stay quietly in the house. After learning to dig holes in the ground, he drilled a small room under their house and put most of their stuff inside it.

Shenyang might be a pretty safe city compared to other towns nearby, but there are still some thieves and small gangsters making trouble on the streets.

Once she starts making money, with Mu Yuchen around her at least she won't need to worry that someone would stab her from behind and try to steal what she earned…
