CHAPTER 15: THE NEWS

A month later.......

Jethro dodges a punch from a goon and slides in between its legs to deliver a kick which eventually knocks it down. Just at the same time, Tania flies to the safe surrounded with security laser beams and she becomes minute after gulping down a clear liquid in a small test tube open ( given to the task force by Gangola). She flies to the wires that controll the beam in order to deactivate it.

One of the numerous goons keeping the five occupied is about to shock Tania in the air with an electric teaser before Keira comes in time, to land a painful kick on his neck, which was followed by the loud crack from breaking his neck. Keira retrieves the teaser and throws it to Tania. Tania uses her telekinesis to carry the teaser and zaps the wires causing the security laser to deactivate.

The lock of the safe is unknown and the goons are becoming too outnumbered to take down in time. The five are looking hopeless but they still continue to fight. The timer for the bomb is  remaining a minute. Suddenly,Keira shouts at a distance, "Mighty and Toban should try to open the safe while Tania, Jethro and I hold the goons off. We are running out of time!!!"

Mighty exert a lot of flames into the metallic safe to open it or at least weaken it. Toban approaches the safe to help out. Each time, Mighty takes a break from trying to weaken the safe with his flames, Toban begins to bend some water (from the containers strapped to his back) in a way that cuts through the metal. 58 SECONDS TO THE BOMB EXPLOSION.....

Tania is already in her normal size trying to throw the goons away with telekinesis. Keira is in dark brown, furred werewolf form chasing, tearing, scratching doing all, she has been learning from her personal training with Koven, to hold the goons off. Jethro is seen carrying a big rock with his powers and crushing as many as he can.

30 SECONDS LEFT...........

Toban and Mighty are still getting through the safe step by step. There is fear and worry in their eyes as it looks like they will be too late. The goons are getting closer as Keira, Tania and Jethro are getting exhausted, but the courage and determination can be seen in their eyes as they struggle. 15 SECONDS...

Finally Toban and Mighty gets through and finds an apple. Toban rolls his eyes at such ridiculousness.

The timer is already at 10 seconds, Toban and Mighty approach the others in order to escape the area, before they all die in the explosion. With the help of Toban and and Mighty, the goons are reduced to a minimum enough to escape.

5 SECONDS.............

They all start rushing to the entrance for the escape.

3..2..1..

BADA-BOOM!!! The bomb goes off with the five just a close range of escape from it. "Simulation training complete, I almost thought you guys won't make it. I guess all the training paid off", Theux grins and claps as he tells the five,bwho are still breathing heavily, drenched in sweat from the vigorous simulation test they just went through.

"Here your apple" Toban stretches his hand towards Gangola. Gangola takes it from his hand showing a gesture of appreciation.

"Why an Apple, though? You could have put a sick weapon or something else. I can't believe we almost broke our necks for that" Keira frowns while asking Gangola.

Before Gangola answers her, Reebabo replies, "everything is not as it seems dear, this is a spelled apple that can explode when harmed in any way. You lucky you guys didn't trigger it with your cutting and flames." They all have their mouth opened in shock causing the immortals to laugh.

"I see my potion came in handy." Gangola looks at Tania when he asked this.

"Yes! It did,very helpful and I honestly don't know how I would have gotten through the lasers without it." Tania responds with enthusiasm.

"You really didn't think twice before setting up that simulation, the way the goons were just appearing continuously. . . . Mehn I thought we were going to die. I even forgot we were in a simulation." Keira tells the immortals.

Gangola just smiles.

"So far you have all done well, the reward is no training for the rest of the day", Theux tells them with an amused smile, just to see their reactions.

"Oh my gosh! Just the rest of today?"Jethro shouts out. The others grumble about such reward.

"Yeah, we need to be fully prepared for any attack", Reebabo helps Theux to answer. "Please, just leave tomorrow our of it too, we are begging", Toban pleads. The others join him by trying to form puppy dog eyes. Theux looks at the other immortals as if to ask for what he should do. Reelora nods in support of their plea, Cerberus quirk's up a slight smile to show he agrees to it, Gangola shrugs showing that he has no problem with it. That was enough for Theux to agree, "ok fine."

"Yayy!!" They all cheer in excitement.

OUTSIDE THE REALM...

In depth of the forest, koven and Lucy are holding hands sitting in their usual sports and talking about the order of their days. "....well, that is basically what happened. Since then, all the portals have been guarded, each by a gifted appointed by the leader in that land. I appointed myself to guard the portal here because I don't want to risk anyone knowing about us. Koven rounds off his explanation while playing with Lucy's hair.

Lucy remembers something so she raises her head from Koven's lap abruptly, "Koven, I have a good news, but I am not sure how you will take it though, considering the time we are in currently. You know how things are a bit risky and all. I was shocked when I found out too but I can't just get rid of it,right......"

Koven cuts her rambling short, "Lucy breathe" Lucy literally takes a deep breath. "What happened?" Koven asks after seeing she is  finally calm.

"I'm pregnant", Lucy blurts out. "I'm carrying your child", she quickly adds just to be clear. (At this time, a pregnancy, what?! How do you think Koven would react, good? or bad? Find out next chapter)
