32 I promise you

Regin's supposed to be out there, right? Why isn't he stopping this man?

What if he's hurt? What if he needs help?

I have to get out of here and call the guards. I was about to open the window with my hand slowly going towards the handle when he turned around, and without any doubt, I know that stance, that warm and cheerful smile.

He took off his hood and beamed his beautiful eyes towards me.

"Amy," he called as he walks to me.

What is he doing here? He supposed to be working, right?

I put down my and smiled back at him.

I missed him so so much that my heart rapidly increased its beat, "Hello, Prince Forest, " I greeted.

"I apologize for entering your room without your permission, Regin told me you were sleeping, so I thought I shouldn't knock or else I may wake you up, " he said as he made his way towards me.

Then, Regin's fine and he's the one who let the Prince enter. I was worried he got hurt for nothing.

"I was sleeping, " I whispered, "I've been awake for a while now."

I can't take off my eyes off of him, his skin was glowing with the light, and his eyes became more bright and stunning.

He nodded then he looked out the window, "I'm sorry that I have to skip our meetings. But don't worry, I'll visit you when I have spare time, like now, " he turned to me and I swear I just saw what heaven looks like.

My heart can no longer contain his face, which made me turn my head towards the window and changed the topic, "The sunset is beautiful, isn't it?" I asked.

But, I want to know whether he visits the other brides as well, or am I the only one?

"Then, I would like to invite you with me to Sunset Peak, Amy. The view is breathtaking in that height, " he said.

I was just thinking of going there earlier, and now, he's asking me to go with him. Is it really true that he can't read minds?

I know for sure that the scene is much more beautiful in the sunset peak, but his face is breathtaking enough for me.

I tried to hide my smile, I don't want him seeing that I was dying to go in that place.

"Alright, " I said, then I run towards my closet and grabbed a cloak, I can't waste any more time or the sun will finally end its day and the Prince might change his mind. "Let's go!" I exclaimed and opened the door.

Regin raised his brows at me, "Where are you going?" He asks as he holds the door close to my face.

"Amy, I'll take you to Sunset Peak, you don't need to walk and somebody may see us."

I turn my head back to the Prince and I saw a rectangular blue magic light on the spot he was standing on.

"Can you teleport?" I asked as I run towards him.

I heard Regin closed the door while I was taking my time admiring the eye-pleasing light.

"Yes, but I rarely use it. It takes much of an effort to summon this power."

He held out his gloved hand towards me with a gleeful smile.

"If it takes too much effort, then we can go and walk. I don't mind walking, " I said.

I can't have him get tired just because I want to see the sunset. He's already tired enough from working.

"Come on, the sun won't wait, " he leaned and took my hand, and slowly pulled me inside the glowing light with him, "And no effort is wasted on you, " he said then a blinding light covered us, and within a second, we were standing at the peak of the mountain.

I gasped when I saw how high we were. My hands gripped highly on the Prince's cloak, and I can feel my legs trembling in fear.

The castle even looks like it's just an inch large from where we're standing, and the breeze was freezing. I can feel my face stiffening from the coldness of the place.

"Move, move, move, move, move, " I repeated as I try to push him farther from the cliff.

"Are you afraid of high places? You should've told me. I thought you want to go to the highest location in the peak."

I shook my head, I don't even want to listen to him right now. I am not afraid but I was shocked.

If we walked up here, I might've adjusted my senses that were literally high above the ground.

"Please, just move a little backward, " I whispered as my eyes were glued on his chest.

I can only see how close I am with him right now. I don't even know if this is allowed for a lady to do.

"Alright, " he whispered while stepping slowly closer to the trees. "Is this fine now?" He asked as he slowly stops.

I nodded and let his cloak go, then I took a step away from him and cleared my throat.

My body's starting to feel hot from the embarrassment, I was clinging to him just now.

"I am sorry I was too close, " I stuttered, "I was just surprised."

"It's fine, I enjoyed it, " he replied with a soft chuckle.

I felt my heart stop beating while my lungs grew paralyzed, what did he say? He enjoyed it?

I was throwing the ground a confused look, why would he enjoy such close contact? He's a prince, he should be receiving a fair respectful distance.

"Aren't you going to watch the sun? I thought you want to see this scene from here?"

I saw Prince Forest with a ravishing expression. He was looking at the sun as if its the only thing that he can see. The orange painted sky was all over him, and it was such a gorgeous backdrop for his appearance.

"Have you ever wondered, if things went your way, will happiness be in your hands?"

I shook my head to comprehend what he just said.

"My way..." I mumbled as I reckon.

There are a lot of things that I wanted to happen but never did. Just like my father staying with me.

"I think if things went on my way, I will definitely be happy, but..." I bent my knee and sat on the ground, "I will be a different person, and that person will be is a hundred percent better. But, of course, it's not always the case."

I watch the Prince as he sits down beside me with his legs stretched out, while his hands are flat on the ground, "Why would you be better?" He asked with his eyes still stuck on the sunset.

"My father would have taught me a lot of things. I would have learned a lot of things. I wouldn't have felt alone. I wouldn't have shut the world out, thinking that everyone will someday leave me."

I sighed as I play with my cloak's button, "You know, I may have learned how to ride a bike, or use a bow and arrow if he just stayed with me."

My father had a couple of arrows and a bow hiding in our basement, but I never used nor touched them because I don't want to destroy it.

And his bike was engulfed by the rust in the garage since he just left it there.

"Amy, " Prince Forest called my name with a troubled tone, "You're not alone anymore."

I didn't raise my head, nor took a glance at him. I don't want to see his frown.

"I know. I have Lili, Lulu, Lala, Granny, Regin, Aiven, the kids..." I smiled, I already have a lot of people, and I never even thought about wanting some company when I first went here.

"I see..." Prince Forest replied with a cold faint voice.

Heh, he might be thinking that I wouldn't say his name.

I raised my head and I was surprised to see that he's been staring at me all this time. His eyes looked anxious, and sad at the same time.

I suddenly felt a wave of realization, among everyone, he's the first one that filled the blank list of people that I enjoy seeing.

I love hearing his words, seeing his smile, receiving his jokes, and having his attention.

I didn't want anyone in my circle.

I was too used to being ignored, forgotten, and alone that I always wanted to receive that treatment.

But he's there, always trying to break my shell by demanding an early meeting, spouting words and questions whenever I feel like I don't want to talk, making me laugh, and worrying.

"You're annoying, do you know that?" I scoffed.

And I also hate that I he's doing that.

Because it makes me feel as if I'm the luckiest person who's been kidnapped.

I hate that I love him.

I hate that I always have to think that he's a Prince, and I am no one.

I hate a lot of things that he caused.

I can't even decide whether I want to go back to my world or stay.

I just want to be with him, and help him, love him, take care of him, hug him, hear him, see him... ugh, I love him.

Even if he's the most powerful and terrifying man.

I would rather have my bones taken out of my body than to leave him in his tiring world.

"And I love you, " I whispered as I stare deeply into his eyes.

I don't even care if confessing first is embarrassing for a woman, I just want him to know that he's also not alone.

"And I want to be with you, " I added as my heart suddenly drowns in mixed emotions.

I love him, but I am scared that I may never have a chance to be with him, and I'm sad because I can't do anything to help him, and I feel out of control because anything can happen.

My tears suddenly filled my vision, "And I want you to be happy, " I said as I realized that I may one day have to go back and forget about him.

"Amy, " he whispered and hushed, "Don't cry, " his voice was soft as he begs, "Please."

I didn't even suppress my tears, nor my wailing.

I want to feel this weird feeling. It's a mixture of wanting Forest, and fear of wanting him, along with the happiness that I met him.

"I just feel so..." I took a deep breath while he held my shoulder with a smile on his face, "...sad because you're always tired and busy, and..." I wiped my tears while he frowned, "I want to help you, but I'm afraid that I'll lose this bride selection, and I'll have to leave everyone."

I don't even know if I am making sense or if he can understand me.

"I didn't know sunset can make you cry, " he chuckled as he pulls me in a tight hug, "I wouldn't have brought you here if I knew you'll be feeling this way."

He pats my back as I bury my face in his chest. This warm place is the comfort I need with this cold breeze.

"I'm fine, Amy, you don't have to worry too much. I promise you, no one will leave you, and you don't have to leave anyone."

His voice was like a lullaby, after crying so hard, I just want to close my eyes and listen to him.

My eyes slowly closed, as my cries ceased.

I want to sleep now, in his arms.

"And, I love you too, Amelia Snow, " he answered, but it was just like a hum, I can't comprehend the words as I doze off into rest, but I can feel a warm fuzzy feeling after hearing that.
