Chapter 36

Haruka sits by the train window, his gaze fixed on the passing landscape. The rhythmic clacking of the wheels against the tracks creates a soothing backdrop as he observes the blur of trees and buildings outside.

The motion of the train lulls Haruka into a contemplative state. He thinks about the events in Star City, the confrontation with Count Vertigo, and his brief partnership with Green Arrow and Speedy. While he had been grateful for their assistance, Haruka knows he must continue on his own path, determined to complete the mission entrusted to him by the Kamen Rider system.

A soft voice interrupts his thoughts. "Excuse me, sir, would you like anything from the refreshment cart?" a stewardess inquires, her polite smile conveying a willingness to serve.

Haruka turns to face her, shaking his head gently. "No, thank you," he responds, his voice calm and measured.

The stewardess nods in understanding and moves on, leaving Haruka once again to his own contemplations. He settles back into his seat, the hum of the train's engine and the ever-changing scenery outside providing a sense of solace.

Haruka's mind drifts to the challenges that await him in the next city. He knows he must be vigilant, ready to confront the remaining two supervillains on his list. The weight of his responsibility as the Kamen Rider weighs heavily on him, but he is resolute in his determination to see this mission through.

As the train glides onward, Haruka's gaze remains fixed on the world outside, his thoughts a tapestry of past experiences and the uncertainties that lie ahead.

Haruka's eyes widen as the train pulls into the station of Fawcett City. The bustling metropolis sprawls out before him, a stark contrast to the serene countryside he had just left behind.

Stepping onto the platform, Haruka is immediately struck by the city's vibrant energy. Towering skyscrapers reach for the sky, their reflective glass surfaces glinting in the sunlight. The streets teem with life, pedestrians hurrying to and fro, their voices blending into a symphony of activity.

As Haruka navigates the crowded sidewalks, he takes in the sights and sounds of Fawcett City. Colorful murals adorn the walls, celebrating the city's rich history and culture. The air is filled with the aroma of street vendors, their carts offering an array of tantalizing treats.

Haruka's gaze sweeps across the city, searching for any signs of criminal activity or a potential supervillain. However, the city appears relatively peaceful on the surface, its residents going about their daily lives without any visible signs of danger.

As he navigates the city streets, Haruka notices the absence of any obvious superhero presence. Unlike the other cities he has visited, Fawcett City does not seem to have a guardian vigilante or a legendary hero to protect its citizens. The people here go about their business without the looming shadow of a masked crusader, a stark contrast to the ever-present threat of villains in Metropolis or Gotham.

Haruka hoped he could find a supervillain somewhere in the city so he can complete his mission. Frowning slightly, he scans the bustling streets one more time, searching for any signs of criminal activity. With a resigned sigh, he turns and heads towards a nearby hotel, his steps purposeful.

Entering the lobby, Haruka approaches the front desk, his expression neutral. "One room, please," he requests, handing over the necessary documents. The receptionist smiles politely as she processes his reservation, then hands him a keycard. "Enjoy your stay, sir."

Nodding in acknowledgment, Haruka collects his key and makes his way to the elevator, his suitcase trailing behind him. As the doors close, he takes a deep breath, mentally preparing himself for the challenges that may lie ahead in this unfamiliar city.

...

Haruka strolls through the bustling streets of Fawcett City, taking in the sights and sounds. The towering skyscrapers and vibrant murals captivate him, a stark contrast to the grim atmosphere of Gotham.

As he visits the iconic landmarks and bustling markets, Haruka is struck by the city's peaceful nature. There are no signs of the criminal element or supervillains he had anticipated.

"Finding a supervillain here is more difficult than I thought," Haruka muses inwardly, his brow furrowing slightly.

Haruka thought of leaving the city but decided not to. He had only just arrived, and he got lucky when he encountered an incident in Star City. Haruka was about to return to the hotel but suddenly heard people shouting in fear. He went to see the commotion and saw a bus dangling on a highway. If it falls, the people inside could get injured.

Haruka quickly scans the area, looking for a secluded spot to transform. He spots an alleyway a few blocks away and dashes towards it, weaving through the panicked crowd. Reaching the alley, Haruka activates the Shotriser, his body enveloped in a flash of light. The sleek, metallic armor of the Trapping Spider Kamen Rider forms around him, the compound eyes of the helmet glowing with determination.

Without hesitation, Haruka leaps onto the highway, his enhanced speed and agility allowing him to reach the dangling bus in seconds. The passengers scream in terror as the vehicle sways precariously. Haruka quickly assesses the situation, spotting the damaged support beam that is barely holding the bus in place.

"Hang on!" he calls out, his voice amplified by the suit's speakers. Haruka braces himself, then grips the support beam, using his superhuman strength to stabilize the bus. The passengers' cries turn to gasps of relief as the vehicle stops swaying.

Haruka webs the support beam in place, the sticky strands securing the vehicle. With a steadying breath, he calls out to the terrified passengers.

"Stay calm and exit the bus one by one. I've got you."

The people hesitantly obey, crawling out of the windows and down the webbed supports. Haruka guides each one to safety, his enhanced senses ensuring no one falls. As the last person touches the ground, Haruka nods, satisfied that everyone is out of harm's way.

Haruka watched as the bus landed safely on the ground, the people around him erupting in cheers and applause. Before he could react, a flurry of camera flashes began to blind him, and a news reporter rushed over, microphone in hand.

"Excuse me, sir! Can you tell us who you are?" the reporter asked excitedly.

Haruka hesitated, unsure of how to respond. "I'm... Kamen Rider," he said, his voice slightly muffled by the helmet.

The reporter's eyes widened. "Kamen Rider? That's incredible! Can you tell us more about yourself and how you were able to save these people?"

Haruka shifted uncomfortably, not wanting to divulge too much personal information. "I'm just here to help," he replied simply.

Sensing the reporter's persistence, Haruka knew it was time to leave. With a quick motion, he fired a web line and swung away, disappearing from the scene.

Haruka slipped into a dark alley, quickly canceling his transformation. The Trapping Spider armor dissolved, leaving him in his civilian clothes. He let out a relieved sigh, grateful to have avoided further attention.

"That was a close one," he muttered, running a hand through his hair. Haruka knew he needed to be more cautious, especially in a city he wasn't familiar with. The last thing he wanted was to draw unwanted scrutiny.

Glancing around the alley, Haruka ensured he was alone before making his way back to the hotel. He had a lot to think about after his impromptu heroics. Perhaps Fawcett City held more challenges than he had anticipated.
