Chapter 1: Revelation

"Let it be fire. Let it be fire." Xian endlessly thought as he proceeds on the altar of blessing where the element of their mana will be determined which will then distinguish the faction he will join upon reaching the age of adulthood.

He puts his hand on a floating crystal ball at the center of the altar and the head priest starts enchanting spells which will bless Xian with the element for his mana.

Mist of colors from red, green, brown, blue, white, black, gold, started to flow around the top of the altar and one by one will pass through the crystal ball to distinguish the affinity of Xian's mana. And when all the colors have passed through, the crystal ball will emit the color of which the element represents his mana has affinity with.

Red

Blue

Green

Brown

White

Gold

Black

"Let it be fire. Please... Let it be fire." Xian prays.

Everyone is silent as they spectate the ceremony happening.

Tens of seconds have passed but the crystal ball hasn't emit any color which made the head priest wonder as it usually just takes a second for a color to be reflected.

Then all of a sudden...

The head priest started to walk towards Xian and asks Xian to follow him to a private room at the back of the altar.

The head priest tasked another priest to continue the ceremony for the other candidates.

Inside the private room lies different magic staves with magic crystals of different color.

Xian was confused of what was happening since his crystal ball did not emit any color and was suddenly asked to go to the private room.

[Silent Sanctuary] casted by the head priest as soon as they are both inside the room.

The head priest then asked Xian to hold each and every staff and let his mana flow unto it and cast a spell.

Xian started holding onto a magic staff with a red crystal embedded and casted [Fire ball].

A ball of flame started to form on top of the staff but both Xian and the head priest wondered as the size of the fire ball seemed to be a little small than that of the regular ones casted by many.

"Now onto the next staff" said by the head priest.

[Water ball]

Xian was surprised that a water ball formed on top of the staff when he knows that even with a magic crystal, if he has no affinity with the element, the spell should have been cancelled.

[Earth spike]

[Wind gust]

[Light orb]

[Umbral sphere]

[Temporal orb]

As Xian still shocked on what was happening, the head priest confirmed...

"Son, you are an Elemental Nexus"
