Rolling for More
Freedom, a word that was ushered by many an idealist. An ideal which every single person strove to achieve. Unfortunately, reality is as cold and unforgiving, as it is inevitable.
I too, wished to achieve so, but the confines of reality were impossible to unchain. Nevermind the lengths required to reach my goal.
I stuck to my beliefs. I stuck to my morals. Everything I did without sacrificing those two was in hopes to take even one more step to achieving my goals, but all of it fell flat in the end.
However, an opportunity came just as I stewed about my day. It was surreal, impossible even, but desperation breeds irrational decision-making.
Now I have to live with myself for accepting what could be called, a two-faced deal, in a world of swords and magic, but with a very, VERY, terrifying catch. Either save it from the various world-ending entities that plague the world like an infestation, or die along with it.
On the bright side, if I’m alive at the end, freedom awaits.
