ITS TOO LATE

It's too late (ONE SHOT)@JeAnnPulido

The silence woke her. She stood up only find out that she's in the cemetery, alone with hundreds of headstones for the dead. Frightened and scared, she tried to calm herself as she looked at the night sky that's lit only by the moon and the stars.

Much to her surprise, a boy came - a handsome, young and nerdish-looking boy holding a bouquet of beautiful roses with a glowing white and glittering pink color. She ran towards the boy to ask for some help.

But as she ran to him, he walked past her body. Her eyes became larger and she was holding back her breathe as she realized something unbelievable. She found out. She can see and hear but she can't feel and touch anything.

"I'm.. a ghost?"

'Oh. So that's why I'm here. I'm.. I'm already.. d-dead' she thought while holding back the tears.

When she heard the boy crying so desperately, she turned and looked at the boy only to make her feel more terrified.

"It's my name. It's written on the headstone. Oh my god," she whispered and covered her mouth out of shock

Suddenly, the boy started to shout out his pain so loudly that she cried. The boy was holding his chest so tight while crying his heart out.

She didn't know that year after year, day after day, the boy hid his affection for her to respect the friendship they had for 11 whole years. Realizing this now, she fell on her knees. All of the strength she had disappeared.

The reason why she's still here but invisible in his eyes was because he wished so desperately to at least say something to her that he couldn't for years.

While holding his chest so tight and crying so helplessly, he looked at the headstone in front of him and whispered, "I'm in love with you"

With those simple but very meaningful words, she smiled and walked to where the boy was. She kissed him saying "Thank you, I'm sorry and.. goodbye" and she disappeared.

"I'm in love with you!" the boy shouted feeling so relieved while thinking 'Finally! I said it!'

He laughed out of his own praises. But while he was laughing, tears were still flowing down his cheeks.

"But it's too late,"
