Chapter 25: advanced technology and Magic

They returned to the flying ship, where they had left it near the entrance of the ancient ruins. They entered the control room, where the pilot and the other officials were waiting for them.

"Not bad, you can still do much better than this. This vehicle and the others you created focus solely on advanced technology. If you combine magic and technology, you'll be much more powerful than this," Zara said, looking around the control room with a critical eye.

"I know that, we're doing our best to work on that as well. But no matter what we do, we can't make a breakthrough. Anyways, you said you had a plan to defeat him, right?" Siah asked, referring to the evil god.

"Yup, I can't physically do anything, to be honest. Even with my body like this, fighting him is useless. But I have my mind," she said, pointing at her head.

"With this, I can bring back the ancient civilization's lost technology and make it even stronger! Ha! Ha! Ha!" She shouted, laughing like a mad scientist.

"Hey, can you keep your voice down, brat?" Fuku said, annoyed by her loud and arrogant attitude.

"Huh!? Who are you calling brat!?" Zara said, angrily walking towards Fuku.

"Who else is a kid here?" Fuku said, provoking her.

"What did you say!?" Zara said, ready to punch him.

"I said what I said," Fuku said, smirking.

"Can you two both stop?" Siah said, intervening between them.

"My apologies, Siah," Fuku said, calming down a bit.

"Hmp! Lucky bastard," Zara said, muttering under her breath.

"Your Majesty, can you explain us what's going on?" Mae asked.

"Zara, I trust these people, explain it to them" Siah said

"If that's what you want" Zara said glazing at the officials

Zara nodded and activated her skill. A blue hologram appeared in the air, showing the video of the past. It was the same video that Siah had seen earlier, when the crystal had shared its memory with him.

The video showed the ancient civilization of Zalara, a marvel of both technology and magic. It showed the crystal, who was the leader of the continent, and the creator of the world. It showed the war that broke out among the people, and the billions of lives that were lost. It showed the sacrifice that the crystal made to recreate the world, and the interference of the gods who divided the continent. It showed the fight that the crystal had with the god who turned into an evil god, and the destruction of its original body. It showed the crystal's consciousness being trapped in a crystal, and its long wait for someone who could help it.

The video lasted for half an hour, and everyone watched it in silence. They were stunned by the truth that was revealed to them.

"So His Majesty isn't from this world..?" Mae asked, breaking the silence.

"Yes," Siah answered, feeling a bit down. He thought they might resent him for lying to them.

"Amazing! Siah is so amazing! Chosen by the gods! Saving this world, saving us! Our savior!" Mae shouted happily, clapping her hands.

Siah was confused by her reaction.

"I knew that our technology was weird, so His Majesty is really the chosen savior," an official said, nodding his head.

"Yeah, for him to lead us until now, how amazing," another official said, praising him.

"Eh? You aren't disappointed? I mean, the technology wasn't my invention," Siah said, feeling guilty.

"What are you talking about? There's no ordinary human that can lead people like this. You're a naturally born leader, your power or not, for you to lead us until now is what we praise not your technology" Fuku said, reassuring him.

Siah blushed, "Thank you..." he said with a smile.

They then got returned to Islivaria, Sarah got a chance to receive a reward on the royal court.

Siah was sitting on the throne, with Fuku and Mae beside him. He was holding a ceremony to reward Sarah and her team for their discovery of the ancient civilization. The other officials were watching from the sides, while Sarah was kneeling on the red carpet in front of the king.

"Lieutenant Sarah, you and your team have made a remarkable achievement by finding the ancient civilization. You have brought back valuable knowledge and technology that will benefit our country and our people. As a reward, I hereby promote you to the rank of colonel. What else do you desire?" Siah asked, in a generous and gracious tone.

"Your Majesty, with respect, I wish to continue exploring and discovering more about this world, for the glory of the country and the king," Sarah replied, in a humble and loyal manner.

Siah looked at Fuku, who nodded his head. He had used his skill to detect any lies or hidden motives from Sarah, but he found none. She was sincere and honest. Siah then looked at Mae, who also nodded her head. She had used her skill to analyze Sarah's personality and potential, and she found that she was brave and talented. She was worthy of the promotion.

"Very well, then. I will grant you the upgraded Aegis Skyblade and much stronger equipment and vehicles for your exploration. You will also have three thousand soldiers under your command. Protect them well, and lead them with honor and wisdom," Siah said, granting her request.

"I will do my best, Your Majesty. Thank you for your kindness and trust," Sarah said, bowing her head. She felt honored and grateful for the king's generosity and recognition.

After the ceremony, Siah went to visit Kathy, who was doing research on combining advanced technology and magic. He wanted to see how she was progressing and if she needed any help.

He knocked on the door of her lab, but there was no answer. He knocked again, three times, but still no response. He decided to open the door and go inside. "Kathy?" he called out.

He found her sleeping on a desk, with a book on her face. She was surrounded by papers, wires, and gadgets. Siah shook her gently, "Hey, wake up."

"Fuh~? Is the food ready?" she mumbled, drooling a bit.

"I knew you would be like this. I brought some food with me," he said, putting down a paper bag filled with burgers, fries, and soda.

"Yey!!" she exclaimed, waking up and grabbing a burger.

"Hmm? Who's that?" she noticed Zara, who was looking around the lab with curiosity.

"She's Zara, the one I told you about," he said, introducing her.

"Oh, the one from the ancient civilization, huh?" she said, taking a bite of her burger.

"Hey, this won't do. If you focus solely on magic, it will explode. You should make it like a magic tool," Zara said, picking up one of the items.

"Making magic tools?" Kathy asked, interested.

"Yup, like the dwarves using magic crystals to create magic swords, or the magicians creating magic tools from normal objects," Zara explained.

"Eh? I never thought of that!" Kathy said, getting up and walking towards her.

"You focus on blessings, but you'll just drain the mana of your magic casters. Use the mana crystals like electricity and you can create much more powerful magic tools," Zara continued.

"I see, combining electricity and mana crystals as the power source," Kathy said, amazed.

"Yup," Zara nodded.

"I'll leave you two alone, then," Siah said, seeing that they were getting along well.

"So if we can add magic stones instead of electricity and use bla bla bla," Kathy kept talking, ignoring Siah.

Siah awkwardly left the lab. He closed the door behind him and bumped into Brod, who was walking in the hallway.

"Oh? Your Majesty, did you visit Kathy?" Brod asked.

"Yeah, I wouldn't recommend entering now. She's in the middle of a discussion with Zara," Siah said.

"I see..." Brod said, understanding.

Both of them then walk to the hallway

"How are your people?" Siah asked, changing the topic.

"At first they were uneasy, but as time passed they got along with the others. They're grateful for your kindness and generosity," Brod said, referring to the people he had brought from his village.

"That's good to hear. I'm glad they're happy here," Siah said, smiling. "I'll be going now. Take care," Siah said.

"You too, Your Majesty. See you later," Brod said, waving.

Siah stepped out of the laboratory and looked at his city. He felt a surge of pride and awe as he saw the sight before him. His city was filled with people, advanced technology, flying cars, and large buildings. It was a dazzling city, a symbol of his vision and leadership.

He saw the skyscrapers that towered over the streets, reflecting the sunlight and the clouds. He saw the flying cars that zoomed across the sky, creating colorful trails and sounds. He saw the people who walked, talked, and laughed on the sidewalks, wearing fashionable clothes and gadgets. He saw the signs and screens that displayed various information and advertisements, creating a lively and vibrant atmosphere.

He also saw the traces of magic that blended with the technology, enhancing and enriching the city. He saw the magic crystals that powered the machines and vehicles, glowing with different colors and shapes. He saw the magic tools that the people used for various purposes, such as communication, entertainment, and security. He saw the magic spells that the people cast, creating various effects and phenomena.

He saw his city, a city of both technology and magic, a city of progress and harmony, a city of wonder and beauty. He smiled and thought to himself, "This is my city, and I love it."
