Eve

With the small girl bundled in my jacket it looked as if I was holding a stuffed animal or a doll. I began to understand the situation as I walked around the school, struggling to find my way back to the back to the nurse. It seems that the social status for Faunus is lower than Human's. Most people are open minded nowadays but there are select few like the guys who's asses I beat that still believe in the segregation. I shook my head at the idea and sighed, the small girl in my arms still trembling and her tail curled up. She wouldn't stop shaking as I held her in my jacket. Her face had a painful look of sadness painted across it as I walked. I felt terrible for her, to be abused like that and be treated as a lower rung of society her whole life was unbelievable. A bell rang loudly as people rushed out of their classes and into the halls, crowding them and filling the room with noise. I simply dodged in and out of the crowd, pushing my way past, girls and guys alike gawking at me as I carried the small girl down the halls, that is till I heard a name,

???:" Kara! Kara! What are you doing with Kara! Hey shirtless guy! Stop and let me see who you are carrying!"

I slowly looked over my shoulder to see another girl making great haste towards me, waving her hand in the air trying to get my attention. She pushes through the crowd and is looking at me with angry eyes. Ready to fight me for the small girl in my arms.

???: "Hey punk! Give Kara back! Why are you carrying her around in that jacket like that!"

I slowly set Kara down who was engulfed by my jacket, tears still streaming down her face as she rushed towards the strawberry blonde and buried her face in her chest, light sobs being made as Kara holds the girl. I can see sparks of anger set a blaze to the girl as she moves Kara behind her in a protective way. That's when I catch a swift foot to my lower jaw, knocking my head up. All I could see was the ceiling for a moment before I looked back down at the angry girl. I look at her curiously before I pat her head out of instinct, throwing off the new girl who jumps back and covers her head, her face quickly gaining a crimson color.

???:"Kara, w-who the hell is t-this guy and why did he pat m-my head like that!.

Kara was still hiding behind the crimson faced girl before I held a hand out to her

"I said I'd take you to the nurse and so far I've been keeping my promise, Ive even carried you. I can still take you or your red faced friend here can, the decision is completely up to you."

The red faced girl took note of this as she cocked her head sideways and looked at me funny. She had calmed down as she leaned down and whispered to Kara. She listened slowly as her expression changed with each part till she returned her gaze towards me and bowed.

???:"I had this whole thing wrong. You weren't trying to do anything to her or already had. I wanted to that you for saving my friend and taking care of them for her. This is the first time I've seen Kara interact with a man before and I thought you had done something cruel to her. Please accept my apology and allow me to accompany you two to the nurse."

She finished bowing as Kara quickly made her way back to me and looked at me. She was silent and had chocolate brown eyes but as she was at my feet she put her hands in the air and waited there quietly. It took me a moment to get the message as I slowly took her in my arms once more and held her. She snuggled up into me as the other girl began taking lead, me following with no problems. I kept quite as I stared at her, observing her and probably looking like a creep. She had long, fuzzy hair, light olive skin that hinted at a tropical life style as the smell of sea salt constantly drifted off her skin. She looked to be about 5'4" a tad smaller than me, I unfortunately was unable to piece together if she was a Faunus or not but it mattered little to me. I paid a bit of attention to Kara who was still bundled in my jacket, her face was delicate and her skin was pale. Unlike her friend she seemed to live more landward as she smelled of orchids danced across her skin. We rounded a few corners and arrived at the nurses office that I previously was at. The nurse almost fainted as I walked through the door way as I held small, hurt Kara in my arms. I lightly laid Kara on one of the beds due to her falling asleep. I began to explain to the nurse what had happened as she looked her over and took notes over the ordeal. After all of the explaining and diagnosis the threw guys I had some fun with limped through the door, the third passing out once more at the sight of me.I chuckled as I began to make my way out of the nurse's office, being stopped a moment after laying my hand on the door.

???:"Hey, I meant to say my name is eveealine, most just call me eve. I also wanted to thank you for putting those guys in their place for attacking a Faunus, it was admirable that a human like you went out of their way to do that. Most wouldn't help Kara anyway..."

She looked down and sniffled a bit. I pat her ahead and began to walk away, my face stone cold.

"Don't worry about it and Eve, it's not your fault for not being there for her. Things happen and I just so happened to be there to help out. I'd stay to make sure Kara is ok but I have to go to my dorm and meet my team still. Pat her on the head for me and tell her everything will be ok."

With that I close the door behind me and head out into the hall once more, leaving my jacket behind with Kara as I search for my dorm.
