"My brother is not a clumsy person, even if he had ten times the items in his hands he could still run, jump and hop on one leg and never drop a single piece of grain." Calder said in confusion.
"Of course I know that and I'm pretty sure the people in the room knew that too! I mean, cough, coigh, it make sense, he was on the battle field so his body is conditioned to do amazing things so the only reason I can think of for his moment of clumsiness is that he was stalling for you to show up." Syria explained.
Calder looked at Syria with a slightly sour face. "Oh, I didn't think you were paying such close attention to his body." Calder said with a slight pout. Syria's eyes grew wide as she looked at Calder. "That's what you got from my story? Are you jealous?" Syria asked in a surprised tone. "What?! No!" Calder cried out. Syria raised her eyebrow at Calder and smiled.
"Really! As your good friend I am just worried that you are looking at this Kingdom's King with questionable eyes." Calder said as he turned beet red and finished picking up the last of the floor dough, dumping it into the trash. "You're my good friend now?" Syria asked in a teasing tone as she crossed her arms over her chest.
Calder's jaw dropped, the action caused Syria's breast to perk up from the arm support, show casing them just for him. Calder gulped as he brought his mouth back up. "O-of c-course w-we're g-g-good f-f-friends." He said with a a heavy stutter.
Calder couldn't keep looking at Syria any longer, his lower member was already full erected and he could feel liquid starting to trickle from his nose. "S-s-so my brother stalled for me? Why d-d-did you c-c-come up with t-t-that idea?" Calder said as he turned around and faced away from Syria.
"Are you okay?" Syria asked with a concerned voice. "YES!" Calder shouted as a bolt of electricity shot through his body. He slightly turned his gaze and caught sight of Syria's hand on his right shoulder. "Calder?" Syria called out. "Nope!" Calder yelled as he raced into the pantry.
"Calder?" Syria called out as she knocked on the pantry door. "Just leave me alone for a moment!" Calder called out. He felt stupid, he seemed willing and able to tease Syria but the moment she touched him voluntarily his body reacted like a teenager in heat. "Alright then." Syria said causing Calder to facepalm himself. "It might take longer..." He grumbled to himself.
Calder sighed as he stepped out of the pantry. He didn't think it would take him so long to calm down without having to massage his 'little friend.' Calder looked up and was surprised. The floor was sparkling clean and Syria was standing in the middle with her arms crossed over her chest. She looked so proud that Calder couldn't help but let out a small laugh. "You did such a good job." Calder said happily as he flashed Syria a beaming smile, making sure to make eye contact. He refused to embarrass himself again.
"W-who says I cleaned?!" Syria shouted in a haughty tone but her smile never faltered. "Well, if you didn't clean then it must have been the beautiful cleaning fairy that comes to every prince's rescue." Calder said as he put his hands behind his back and rocked on the balls of his heels, averting his gaze as he smiled. "Beautiful cleaning fairy?" Syria asked as she dropped her arms. "Yes. The VERY beautiful cleaning fairy." Calder said as he looked at Syria.
"She only comes to good little prince's and help them clean up. No matter the mess! Whether it be their room or their person, she always flies down and help them out as a reward for being the best prince he could be." Calder said as he slowly walked up to Syria. "Have you met this beautiful cleaning fairy?" Syria asked as she gave him a doubtful look.
"Why yes." Calder whispered. He stopped walking the moment his feet reached Syria. He lifted up his hand and brushed back a lock of hair behind her ear. "She's so beautiful I can't even put it into words." Calder said as he stared at Syria. Her cheeks flushed as she bit her down on her lower lip.
"Y-you make it sound like you are very fond of her..." Syria said. Her eyes shook with fear but Calder slightly gasped when he saw a flash of hope reflected in her eyes. "I admire her so much but I know she will never let me into her heart... Instead I will be her friend and wish for her happiness." Calder said quietly, watching for any sign that would give him the okay to hope for more.
"B-but she's a fairy... Will being friends be alright? Isn't being something different bad? Scary even? What if she's hiding a big secret? Or worse pretending so she can do something bad later?" Syria asked. Calder's eyes flashed with joy. This was his moment, if he could say the right thing then maybe, just maybe he had a better chance of winning Syria's heart. He closed his eyes as he mentally counted down from five, he wanted his heart calm so that he wouldn't screw up what he wanted to say.
He opened his eyes only half way and gave Syria a small but affectionate smile. "I," Calder started but the doors to the kitchen were thrown open. "We're back!" Esai announced happily. Calder had collapsed onto his hands and knees. He wasn't expecting his brother to ruin such a perfect moment.
Never in his life had Calder ever cursed his brother but with tears in his eyes and an obvious pout, Calder inwardly cursed his big brother's timing for things. He wished he would at least eavesdropped before coming in. Calder made a mental note to talk to his brother about coming into a room where he might be. "Oh Lady Syria, I didn't know you were here." Esai said as people started to fill up the kitchen.
"Lady Syria what did you do to his Highness?!" Lady Britille shouted in a panic as she rushed forward. Syria had no idea what Lady Britille was talking about as she had faced the door the moment it was opened. She watched as Lady Britille's rose gold hair followed after her as she ran past her and dropped to her knees. She gingerly placed her hands on Calder and started to sob. "Are you okay?! Does it hurt anywhere?!"
"Calder!" Esai yelled as he rushed forward.
