1. Abandoned to Mining Star

"Seraphina Angelos!"

" You are guilty!"

"You fake! How dare you hide that sinner?"

The loud and angry voices were making Seraphina scared, she didn't know how to stop them from oppressing her. All these harsh words were making her timid nature even more small.

All these people accused the 15-year-old Seraphina of hiding her mother on the forbidden grounds just because the rules said no one other than the head of the family and council of elders could enter the mystic valley.

"Why did you hide that sinner, Seraphina?"

The first elder with a majestic face and a fair disposition in dealing with matters related to the Angelos family asked her. His face was scary but he was the only one who had tried to resolve the problem that Serephina was suffering from amidst the floor.

She was frightened and tears kept falling from her eyes but her indifferent father never cared to look at her or even tried to console her.

The first elder was usually impartial and wanted to help the young girl from the angry masses in the family trial hall.

"I.."

The third elder interrupted her before she could even make out some words.

"Gilbert? Why do you even need to ask her? She committed a crime and, thus deserved to be punished. We don't need to see or hear her motives. She tried to protect that devilish woman."

The head of the house Raphael Angelos still didn't open his mouth when the third elder disrespected Seraphina's mother and his second wife. His icy eyes were looking at Seraphina as if he were ready to sentence her to the eighteen levels of hell.

Beside Seraphina Angelos, there was a cold dead body lying on the ground covered with a white sheet. It was Selena, the black-haired devilish woman, mother of Seraphina, and love of his life.

All the people in the trial hall did not favor that devilish woman and never liked Seraphina because she was her mother. Raphael Angelos married this woman by breaking the rules of the family where men only took one wife.

Seraphina was numb and could only cry looking at her dead mother on the ground. She didn't know what to do anymore. Everyone looked at her with hateful eyes and no one tried to understand her feelings.

She still remembered her mother's last words 'LEAVE THIS PLACE. GO AFAR.'

Gilbert was tired after the third elder interrupted Seraphina and looked at Raphael and sighed looking at the poor girl. The little girl was not able to defend herself. Her father was also silent and did not provide her with any help. She would probably die if she were sent to the Mining Star.

This was the general punishment given to the trespassers who had stepped foot inside the forbidden mystic valley.

"Head of the house, what is your judgment?" Gilbert Angelos made a last attempt to reduce the little girl's punishment with the thought that maybe Raphael would feel some fatherly love and change the decision to send her to the Mining Star.

At last, Raphael Angelos opened his mouth and said his final verdict.

"As usual, she will be sent to Mining Star. if she is my daughter and belongs to Angelos's bloodline nothing will happen."

Raphael Angelos left the room and with that Seraphina's fate was sealed she was exiled to Mining Star for fifty years.

Seraphina raised her eyes as she watched her father leaving the trial hall without giving her last glance and it hurt her heart that she choked on her words, "Fa…th… er!"

The words kept ringing in her head.

IF SHE IS MY DAUGHTER

IF

MY DAUGHTER

She could not believe that her father was even considering these words, did he believe in rumors that her mother was unfaithful?

"I am your daughter"

The words came out of her mouth but no one was there to listen to her words.

Her mother was dead.

Her father didn't believe her.

She was alone.

Seraphina didn't feel anything when the guards came and dragged her to the spaceship, her jumbled words and hollow eyes were just trying to forget this nightmare where she was all alone.

As she was stuffed inside the spaceship going toward her exile she took a last look at her home that was not home anymore.

Loud wails came out of her mouth.

"Mother!"

She shrieked as she remembered her mother lying there on the cold hard ground. She wanted to go with her mother.

Seraphina was scared.

"What is wrong with this loser?"

"Yeah! Man, she is howling like a loon. What is wrong with her all of a sudden?"

"Leave her be. She lost her mother."

"What mother? She was a devil." another guard retorted.

"Devil? Do you still believe in all the myths of the past?"

As Seraphina wailed and was in deep despair about leaving her mother behind, a young guard stealthily came and dropped a ring at her. He was the same guard who sympathized with her when all the other guards were trolling her.

"Let's go. We should rest. This girl can't possibly run from here." the young guard persuaded the other three remaining guards to leave the room. They all grunted in displeasure but tacitly moved as they didn't want to hear any more crying.

The young guard was the only one remaining in her room and cautiously looked at the door to confirm they were finally alone.

"KEEP THE RING SAFE. USE IT WHEN YOU REALLY NEED IT. THIS WAS YOUR MOTHER'S INTENTION IF YOU WERE IN THIS SITUATION."

After saying his words, he too left the room.

Seraphina finally came to her senses and clutched the ring tightly in her hands, as she pondered the meaning behind the guard's words.
