Octavius Cadmus Cato is a Camp Prefect of the 9th Legion Hispania. Under the command of his father, Atticus Costa, the 9th legion is successfully leading the push for Rome’s conquest of the island of Britannia. While encamped for the winter, Costa assigns Cato to escort Boudicca, a princess of the Iceni tribe, a tribe loyal to Rome, north to negotiate a peace treaty between the Brigantes and the Empire. Plagued by dreams of angels and gods, Cato's journey takes him through a land of myth and magic as he is forced to confront his long-forgotten past. This is a tale of dreams and nightmares, of secrets and deceit, of love and loss. Cato must find his way through betrayal and save those he loves.
