How I Rescue My Friends

Sean and I rushed towards the screams. "What happened? Where are you guys?" I called out. And then I heard curses in two different languages. Towards my right, Kat cussed in English while at my left, Nick used very creative words to form a curse chain in Spanish. This was the only time that I regretted taking Spanish classes in school.

"What going on?!" I cried.

"I don't know. This wasn't supposed to happen. There weren't any traps here!" Sean muttered, frantically. My eyes had adjusted to the darkness enough to make out vague outlines of things. I looked closely at the wall on my left and with the aid of the little light coming from the chamber we had just left, I saw a scary sight. Nick was behind bars. He was trapped in a cage of sorts. My eyes widened in horror. Now, what will we do?

Sean gripped the bars. "There has to be a way out."

"Kat! What happened?!" It was Trevor's voice. What happened to Kat? I rushed to them. She was groaning. And cursing.
