Telling the ruthless alpha I loved him were words built on faith. I never expected him to tell me he loves me too which he never did. He only stared at me. My wolf was happy when I said those words. I thought it was supposed to be sad and hide. I just indirectly rejected my mate for the second time. Unlike the first time when she whined and wouldn't talk to me for a while, she was jumping happily I feared she might jump out of me. She was jumping so badly it was a wonder I could standstill. I groaned. "Stop jumping," I said to my wolf from my mind

"I can't believe you finally fell in love with our mate"

I rolled my eyes. "He isn't our mate"

"But why do I feel so happy?. Why the tinkling sensation anytime he is close by?"

I mentally rolled my eyes. "You're without a mate. You only need a new one"

"I have a mate you rejected him"

I frowned. "I had no option"

"You heard option. You chose what you wanted and not what is good for us"

"Arya, that's enough"

"I won't be speaking to you until you make an amend"

I frowned. Isn't it just a few minutes ago she was happy I said I loved the ruthless alpha?. Why has she suddenly became angry?. I rolled my eyes and sighed. We will settle our differences later but right now, I need to know what the ruthless alpha thinks. I raised my head. He was already sitting on the bed and doing what I couldn't tell. "Do...". He waved his hand at me

"You should leave. I will send the guards to send you back to the fire pack"

"But..."

"It's late"

I rolled my eyes. Why is he acting this way?. "I..."

"Martin" he called and the door opened. Martins walked in. "Escort her back to the pack. Make sure she is safe before you return"

Martins nodded. "Yes, boss". He gestured to me. "Let's go". I stared at the ruthless alpha for the last time. He wasn't looking at me and I felt my heart shattered. I wished he would look at my face or say something. "Come on," Martins said. I sighed and followed him outside. We got to the place I got tied up a while ago. Martins stopped walking. "Sorry, I would have to cover your face". I furrowed my brows. "For security reasons". I nodded. "You don't have to worry. I will lead you outside". My face was covered and Martins led me carefully to the car. He opened the car for me and made sure I entered without hitting my head. The car started and we headed to where I don't know. I could only hope to get to the fire pack territory safe.

The car stopped and the cloth covering my face was taken off. I looked through the window. The car had stopped right in front of the fire territory. Martins opened the door and I stepped out. "Thanks" I muttered

He nodded. "I will be here waiting until I'm sure you're safe"

I smiled and turned to leave. I stopped. "Martins". He stared at me. "Send my regards to the alpha"

He looked kinda surprised but he was quick to conceal it. "I will"

I smiled and left the car. I entered the gate and turned to wave at Martins before running away. When I for closer to the packhouse, I stopped running. Remembering I had to face Nolan, I walked slowly mentally counting my steps. Ella ran to me. "Oh, mine. You're safe. I was so worried about you. Where have you been?. Why are you dressed in this blue dress?. This wasn't the cloth you wore when you left the packhouse"

I rolled my eyes. "You know too many questions get me pissed off"

She chuckled. "I can't help it"

I nodded. "Of course I know"

She smiled. "I'm happy you came back. I was afraid you had returned to the mountain pack"

I rolled my eyes. "I won't do that. I have the work I do here. I also know you love it here and your mate do visit you here"

She flushed and I rolled my eyes. "Your mate lives here. This place is more of your place than it is mine"

I sighed. Only if she knows I wanted the ruthless alpha, not Nolan. Talking of the ruthless alpha. No one knows the pack he heads. I sometimes wonder if he has a pack. I furrowed my brows. He can't be called an alpha except he has a pack. But what I don't understand is where the pack members are and why nobody knows their location. Ella nudged me. "Thinking again?"

I rolled my eyes. I sighted Nigel and Bella walking in our direction. I furrowed my brows. Why isn't Nolan with them?. Is he still angry with me?. I frowned. If there is anyone who needs to be angry here, that should be me not him. I was the one he embarrassed in front of a lot of people. "Hey, Olive. Thank goodness you're back" Bella said, jolting me out of my thought. "Wow. You changed your clothes" she added and I rolled my eyes.

"I knew you were going to come back. I told Nolan not to go look for you" Nigel said as he walked closer to me. He narrowed his eyes. "Why are you dressed in this dress?. This isn't what you left the packhouse in". I frowned. Why are they asking me the same question?. There was no way I would be answering that question so I decided to ignore him.

"Nigel, have you tried reaching Nolan, to tell him Olive is back?"

I rolled my eyes. Why does he have to know I am back?. "I have tried calling him but he is not picking it. I told him Olive will be back. He should have stayed back and not go in search of her"

I furrowed my brows. "You mean Nolan went in search of me?"

He nodded. "He said he was sorry he made you angry and is going to look for you. He wanted to apologize"

I blinked. He wants to apologize?. That's strange. Nolan had never said that before. No matter how many times he got me angry, he never attempted to say he was sorry. He wasn't even remorseful. I sighed. "When did he leave?"

"A few minutes after you left"

I batted my lashes. "If he left a few minutes after I left the house, that means he's gone for..." I counted with my fingers and then gasped. "Five hours!!"

Nigel nodded. "Yeah. I have been trying his number. He's not picking"

I suddenly became worried about him. I feared something bad must have happened to him. The Nolan I know would have been back by now. "The Nolan you know?" My wolf answered. I rolled my eyes. "What do you know about our mate?. Nothing. Do you know he would go any length to look for you?. Do you?"

I batted my lashes. I don't think he is out there looking for me. Maybe he got caught up in something. "We should get you into the packhouse," Ella said. I sighed.

"I will be here waiting for Nolan," Nigel said

"Me too," Bella said. "I will stay with you"

"I will join you guys when I am sure Olive is settled". They nodded and we left. Ella did not say a word to me as we walked into my room. "I know you're ok, Olive and I am sure you can take care of yourself". I nodded. "I will join the rest to wait for Nolan. You should get some rest". She walked out of the room and I lay on the bed. I am sure Nolan can take care of himself.

I opened my eyes and sat up. I was still dressed in my blue dress. I batted my lashes. I must have fallen asleep when I lay down. I stood up to use the bathroom. And when I returned, I checked through the window and realized it was dawn already. I frowned. How come I felt so comfortable sleeping in this dress?. I picked my phone to check what the time says. It's past 7 pm. I groaned. It was time to get ready for work. Talking of work. I needed to know if Nolan was back. I quickly took my bath and got dressed in a white penciled skirt and white body-hugged crop top. I wore black chunky heels and packed my hair into a high ponytail. I picked up my bag and headed downstairs. Nigel and Bella were seated at the dining having breakfast. "How was your night?" Bella asked

"I can tell she slept well"

I wanted to ask about Nolan but Ella walked in. "How was your night Olive?"

I smiled. "Fine. Did Nolan returned home last night?"

Ella nodded. "Yeah. Why do you ask?"

I sighed. "Nothing". I sat down. "Pass me the sugar, Nigel"

He passed me the sugar. I was putting sugar into my coffee when I heard Nolan's voice. "Hi, Ella. Hi, Bella. Hi, Nigel" he said. I raised my head. He did not call my name?

"Nolan. Hope you slept well?" Ella asked.

He sat down beside Ella and smiled. "Yeah. Thanks to you, three"

I furrowed my brows. What does he mean by that?. They all started talking, leaving me out of it. I felt left out and decided to greet Nolan. "Hi, Nolan"

He stared at me and continue talking to the rest. I batted my lashes. He's ignoring me?!!
