"Th-Thank you, Darwin," Wilson answered with tears of joy starting to flow out from his eyes. Then he covered his eyes in embarrassment before saying, "Ugh. Why am I crying?"
"It's okay, Wilson. No need to be shy," Darwin declared in a reassuring voice. "Crying is normal."
"No, wait. I'm not crying," Wilson responded as he tried hard to hold back his tears yet he could not. "I just feel so...happy. So happy that I've won a medal for the team when the others couldn't."
At that moment, Darwin started to pat Wilson's back gently in his attempt to make the latter smile again.
[This guy must have been through a lot to react this way.] Darwin thought.
"Now, now, Wilson. No need to deny that you're crying," Darwin remarked cheerfully. "Crying is just a normal way of expressing our emotions, even for men."
Wilson took a moment to absorb Darwin's words before answering, "Yeah. I guess you're right."
