Chapter 2: Ten years of the muggle world.

Ten years later.

The year 1991, month of July.

It was a bright sunny day, birds were chirping which was pleasantly warm. The atmosphere at the orphanage was lively. Mrs. Cole was making breakfast for the children. Mr. Gary was sitting on his recliner reading the newspaper. It felt like it would be another uneventful day at the orphanage.

Mrs. Cole shouted "Liam, wake up breakfast is ready".

Liam at this moment was in his bed sleeping peacefully without a care in the world. He was so deep in sleep that he couldn't hear anything.

Mrs. Cole, after not getting a response from Liam she sent Luke to wake him up. Luke was 2 years younger than Liam he was also abandoned as a child just like Liam. This was a common story for most of the children in the orphanage. There were not many children in the orphanage including Liam there are only 12 children.

Luke ran upstairs towards the common bed room where Liam was sleeping peacefully dreaming about his past life. He was going to graduate from college get his degree, get a great job, find a girlfriend, later marry her have kids and die peacefully. But all this dreams of his were shattered into pieces. One day while returning from his college on his bike the color of the sky changed to red and he fell into a river to his death. Later he found himself turned into a baby.

He thought to himself 'What worse can happen now', just the next moment he found himself abandoned in an orphanage. Liam couldn't help but curse god.

"Why did you give me such a miserable life?"

"What sins are you punishing me for?"…

His hopes of becoming successful rejuvenated just as got to know he was in the 1990's. Now he had the unfair advantage of knowing which companies are going to become successful. Now he could invest in those companies and Get rich without having to do much work.

He was dreaming of sitting in his home comfortably, watching net-flex* and chilling. Just as he was about to grab his cold drink. He got slapped on his face.

"Ah!! Who was that…" shouted Liam. Luke shouted while running away, "Come downstairs, Breakfast is ready".

Liam having no other choice got up from the bed freshened up and went downstairs to eat the breakfast.

Mr. Gary had collected a lot of books in the orphanage, he made a special shelf for those books. But the children in the orphanage, being too young couldn't understand a word in the books even the older children had trouble reading those books.

In this internet less time the only thing Liam could do was to read books. After finishing his breakfast, Just when Liam was about to go to his corner spending his time reading books. A hand grabbed his ears tightly, "Where do you think you are going Liam? Did you forget you have to water the garden today…"

"Ah!!! About that, Can I not do that today?" Liam said while making a cute expression.

Mrs. Cole looked at Liam sweetly, "Making cute faces will not make me let you skip your chores." Liam then looked towards Mrs. Cole with a sad cute expression.

"Uh… okay, At least water the garden, as for the other chores I can Luke do them. After watering the plants in the garden you can go read your books all day".

Liam turned around with a slight grin on his face, 'Cuteness of a child can be a great weapon'.

Liam is watering the plants in the garden, and the little girl from the neighbor's house is passing by his door carrying a school bag. Even though being neighbors for years Liam still hadn't talked with her he just knew her last name was Granger, but nothing more that.

Just like usual he didn't pay attention to her and kept watering the plants. But as he was watering the plants he noticed a sharp gaze on him. The girl from the neighbor's house was staring at him intently with an annoyed expression. Liam couldn't bear being stared, he confronted her, "Miss Granger, It's not very polite for you to do this. If you don't know my name, you can say 'Hello' to me instead of just staring at me".

Hermione pouted, "You are calling me Miss Granger obviously you also don't know my name." Liam couldn't help but think 'This girl is smart'. She pointed towards the plant Liam was watering and said, "That's 'Ponytail Palm' isn't it. It looks like it was watered just recently. I think you may not know this but this plant only needs to be watered like once a week and it specially requires dry soil. I noticed you were watering the other plants excessively so I thought I should remind you."

Liam stood speechless. She took a look at the yard, and then carefully took out a packet of dried fish from her school bag. Liam just looked at her with his eyebrows raised and asked, "What are you going to with the dried fish? I am sorry to tell you miss granger but I don't like dried fish. I would like it, if you gave me sweets and candy instead."

Hermione pouted again, "This dried fish is not for you. It's for the stray cats which wander around near the orphanage. I really want a pet cat but my parents don't let me have a pet cat. My father said if I were to get good grades in the next exam he would let me bring home a cat. Yesterday I saw you feeding biscuits to the cats, so today I brought some dried fish. I want you to take care of them for me".

Liam took the packet of dried fish from her hands, "Well I actually feed them every day. Today they will have a feast".

Liam then picked a rose from the garden and handed it to her, "Consider this a thank you gift from the cats".

Hermione took the flower from Liam's hand, "My name is Hermione by the way, and you are?"

Just as Liam was about to answer Hermione's mom came out of the door and called her, "Hermione come in quickly and get ready. Did you forget we are going to the museum today?"

"Yes mother coming" She waved to Liam happily, "Don't forget to feed the cats" her long fluffy hair were bouncing like a ball of cotton candy as she dashed back to her home".

Liam continued to water the plants, lost in his own thoughts 'I think I saw a book about gardening in the library, I should read it. Hermione Granger isn't it the same name as that of the harry potter character. What a coincidence.'

Professor McGonagall office, Hogwarts Castle.

The whole office was filled with numerous invitations, just outside the office hundreds of owls were sitting, waiting to receive the letters.

Professor Flitwick was helping Prof. McGonagall with the invitations. Standing on the table, Prof. Flitwick waved his wand, the acceptance letters flew out of the office which were then caught by the owls who flew away with them.

"Tiring… so tiring, Prof. McGonagall how are you able to do this every year. It's such a troublesome thing to do." Sighed Professor Flitwick.

"Well, it's a fun job. I would say I enjoy doing this bit. Professor Flitwick our job is almost done this are the last acceptance letters. Now only the invitations young wizards in the muggle world are left. Every year we need to send someone to introduce those young wizards of the muggle world to the wizarding world." Replied Professor McGonagall.

Prof. McGonagall waved her wand towards 'The Quill of Acceptance' after which came out the list of young wizards who currently reside in the muggle world. The names were, Harry potter, Hermione Granger, Liam Gremory,…

Prof. Flitwick Waved his wand then the Acceptance letters started being written, as they were completely written. He waved his wand again, the acceptance letters flew outside to the owls.

Prof. McGonagall walked towards her table and picked up a parchment which had the list of people who would be responsible for the muggle born wizards.

"As expected from Albus, he is sending Hagrid to bring harry." As she looked down the list she saw Snape's name. "This is odd, I have never seen Severus volunteer for this work."

Prof. Flitwick who was listening to Prof. McGonagall was also shocked, "Prof. Snape is going to meet a muggle born wizard!!".
