Tom had always been wary of interacting with Jack’s children. They lived with their mother and grandfather, and Tom hadn’t been certain if the influence of the two religious zealots would result in them resenting the fact their daddy was now gay. The last thing Tom wanted to do was become a wedge between them.
Seeing Thaddeus with that bruise and Rebecca’s once high spirits cowed changed that, even more so after Jack had learned what was going on and shared it with him. Jack had gone to the house where he’d grown up and had a serious discussion with his ex-wife and his father.
The upshot was that Jack’s children lived with them, only seeing their mother and grandfather every other weekend, as it had been for their daddy. It hadn’t been long before they’d become the happy and well-adjusted kids they had been when Tom had first known them.
Now Thaddeus was in his senior year at Pulaski and Jasper, while Rebecca was in her freshman year.
And they lived happily ever after…
