05 Hope Lies Beyond Despair

Author's Note:

Just a small chapter containing Jeanne's Fight with the Devil. I also just realize that I mess up introducing her way earlier than I should. Anyway Enjoy.

Just as Gray Lose consciousness, the pendant on his neck glowed golden and radiate holy energy. The Stray back off a little as the Holy energy was burning him.

After that temporary glow, a magic circle appeared on the ground, in the middle of it was the still glowing pendant. The body of Gray suddenly stand up and chanted. Mana was continously being release on his body as the glow on the magic circle and lightning sparks intensifies.

"Silver and iron to the origin. Gem and the archduke of contracts to the cornerstone.

The ancestor is my great master Schweinorg.

The alighted wind becomes a wall. The gates in the four directions close, coming from the crown, the three-forked road that leads to the kingdom circulate."

THe Devil heard Gray's monotonous voice giving chills to the devil. The Devil tried to run but the whole place was locked. He also tried attacking Gray but the mana that was being release overwhelms his attack. Having no other choice the Devil stay rooted on his place, far away to Gray.

Repeat every five times.

Simply, shatter once filled.

Silence covered the whole place for a moment. The lightning become much more visible and crackles much intensely. Then a loud shout was heard in the whole room.

――――I announce.

Your self is under me, my fate(doom) is in your sword.

In accordance with the approach of the Holy Grail, if you abide by this feeling, this reason, then answer.

Here is my oath. I am the one who becomes all the good of the world of the dead, I am the one who lays out all the evil of the world of the dead.

You, seven heavens clad in three words of power, arrive from the ring of deterrence, O keeper of the balance ―――!

A bright white flash appeared making all the person on the factory blinded for a short time. All the chaotic mana that was being release cease to exist. However instead of a servant, what appears is the body of Gray wearing an armor while holding a Flag. His closed eyes suddenly opened revealing a bright blue eyes. His hair slowly turning blond, and the Holy Energy that was being release by Gray was comparable to a Tier 3, High class Angel.

"Who are you?" The Stray Devil asked.

"You don't need to know." Gray answered.

"Kuh, you bastard!" The Stray bombared Gray with many magics. However Gray didn't dodge and just place the flag in front of him. Dust filled the air as the explosion occurs.

"Kuhaha, die you bastard" The Stray laugh seeing that Gray didn't dodge, thinking that Gray died on the explosion.

"Is that all you got?" Gray said as the dust revealed an unscathed body of Gray.

"Then it's my turn" Gray rush at the devil aiming the flag like a spear at the devil.

The devil use magic as he tried to run away from Gray. However this prove useless as Gray speed improve by many times than before.

Just as Gray reach the Devil, the Devil notice Sophia on the corner together with Irina. Using it's all remaining magic power, the Devil attack them hoping it'll give him time to escape.

Gray immediately run in front of them tp protect them. Gray planted the flag on the ground and tightly grasping it. And then he chanted.

"Oh Flag of Mine, Protect our Comrades"

"Luminusité Eternelle"

Gray's flag glowed golden as the flag unfurled revealing it's iris flower design.

The Devil's magic come in contact with the flag as it's explode. However as the dust settled, a cone shape area behind Gray was not damage by the explosion.

The devil feel despair as that was the last ounce of his magic power, and do not have any means of escape anymore.

Seeing this chance Gray rush towards the devil, finishing it off.

After killing the devil, Gray go towards Issei to heal him. Just as he heal him, Gray heard someone called out to him. He up his guard thinking that the new person was also an enemy.

"Who are you?" The person with black wings ask.

"I am Ruler Class Servant, Jeanne D'Arc. And you are?" Gray, no, Jeanne ask seeing as the other party doesn't have malicious intent towards her.

"I'm Azazel, The leader of the Fallen Angels. Although I want to ask, Why are you possessing that childs body?" Azazel ask, seeing the familiar body of Gray, only with slight difference in color.

"You know Master? Either way you come at a good time, his mana can't handle my summoning anymore. I don't have much time but I'll try to explain the situation" Jeanne said as she explained what happened in the factory.

"So you are saying that, the kid have summoned you through the use of his Sacred Gear?" Azazel ask curiously as it's the first time seeing a Sacred Gear that can summon spirits like that. Although there are Sacred Gears that contains powerful Spirits, like Boosted Gear and Divine Dividing, it's different because they are permanent spirits residing in the gear.

"Do you know the name of His Sacred Gear?" Azazel can't contain his curiousity anymore and ask.

"In my summoning, I receive necessary information pertaining to this world, so yes I know" Jeanne answered.

"What kind of Sacred Gear it is?" Azazel Ask.

"I'm sorry but you need to ask my master for that" Jeanne did not answer as she thinks that this is private matter.

"I see, it's unfortunate but I think Gray wouldn't mind telling it to me later" Azazel sighs.

"My time is up, I hope you can take care of master for now" Jeanne said as Gray's body fall limply on the ground.

Azazel sighs again cursing Gray for making him work even though he escape his work on Grigory.
