Chapter 162: Star

" Ms Marvis Thompson, Come you come forward and explain to us what this meant ? " One of the judges asked.

Alyssa smiled and then spoke on the microphone.

" Before I come forward, I would like to ask you a question . "

The judges and the audience looked at themselves in confusion. What was this woman saying ,Did she think that this makeup show was a music competition or a joke .

" What is it ? " The other judge asked.

" Judging from singing, Can anyone guess the kind of a person I look like ? " She asked.

The audience begun murmuring in perplex.

One man from the audience raised his arm and the MC took the microphone to him.

" Your voice was very nice. And about the lyrics, You sung like someone who is confident of who she is but at the same time afraid to show who you are. " He said.

Another man from audience also raised her arm and said.

" We are here for a makeup competition and you decided to sing. So, I think you are some one who wants portray more of talent than looks. " He spoke.

The third person was a woman who said.

" Hi, Just show us yourself. I think you are some ugly woman who can't be confident enough to yourself to us so you are using your song to capture our attention. " The woman spoke and made the rest to laugh at Alyssa but she didn't mind about this.

" Enough ! " The judge stopped them .

" Ms Marvis, Can you tell us what this is all about ? " He asked with disappointment.

Alyssa finally came forward. When people saw they begun murmuring again. She didn't look like a woman who would be afraid to show herself because she looked beautiful and her body was well shaped too.

" My name is Marvis Thompson. I sung the song because I wanted to create an impression of women who do not believe that there's beauty in everything. " She begun talking and everyone paid attention.

" Most of us beauty see beauty in the face and the body..But I do believe that beauty is in everything. The eyes, the nose, the lips , arms , legs and more of that. And it's not only all about the appearance but the way we talk, the way we move, How we see things, How we interact with people and nature. So, I called this kit star. It has all the makeup requirements , lotions and perfumes. " She said and opened the kit which had over 20 plus different pieces. I did this to unleash the hidden beauty. " She said and the projector displayed the use of this kit which left people staring and pleased.

After the presentation people clapped for Alyssa again . This was really a great work that she had just done.

" Ms Marvis, May I ask why you chose to name your product star ? " One of the judges asked curiously.

" I you heard my song, I sung about people who admire the star just because it lights at night.. But no one has ever come across a star like the moon..so my question is do we really know if the star looks as beautiful as it is when you come across it ? Or do we know how big or small it is ? Do we know the number of stars that appear to us every night ? ...That's the same with my makeup. It is meant to unleash our beauty and cover up our wounds, pain and lack of confidence. " She answered.

The judge nodded with a beam.

" Okay, We Let's have the next person. " He said and Alyssa walked away.

May was at home with Cynthia when she decided to switch on the tv and saw the live competitions.

" What is that ? " She asked as she sat down on the Sofa .

" Didn't you hear. Hopkinsville Media is choosing their ambassador today. If you were not pregnant by then i wanted you to join the competition. " Cynthia said.

" i will just watch.." She said and settled .

" We are finally going to announce the winner and our winner today is...Marvis Thompson. " The MC declared.

" Marvis..." May called in anger and disbelief. Then she saw Alyssa on display and watched to confirm that this was really Marvis.

She remembered words.

" This Saturday, You will watch me wherever you will be. "

" Huh...So all along she meant this ? " May asked.

Cynthia heard her and came close to see what.

Alyssa gave a grin and walked to the platform. She had changed into a red short dress with black heels and applied a simple make up. The dress was tight on her body exposing her curves and indeed people now saw that she really deserved it.

She went their to pick up her reward and shook hands with the judges. After photos of her with them was taken and everything was live on tv.

" Isn't that the maid at David's ? " Cynthia asked.

" Mom, She wasn't a maid..she was just staying there . " May girtted her teeth.

" How comes she joined the competition ? " Cynthia asked.

" Of course she has nothing. I heard that her parents abandoned her. " May answered.

" Wow, She is lucky to become the ambassador of Hopkinsville. " Cynthia mumbled.

May turned to look at her mother with vexation.

" Mom,You can not me happy with her. She is my enemy !! " May quarreled .

Cynthia smiled and touched her shoulder.

" May, You have just divorced Calcel. I don't want you to get in another trouble. Forget everything that happened and start a new life. " She advised her daughter and then walked away.

' Marvis..' May put a menacing face.

After the competition, Alyssa was called in Hopkinsville office such that they would talk.

" Marvis, I am glad that you didn't disappoint me. " The old man chatted.

" Sir, I am also glad that I didn't. And thank you for the opportunity. " She said.

" Well, We shall sign our contract on Monday. I have already found you a manager and an apartment. If you need anything , Just tell me. " He said.

" Fine Sir. Thank you. "
