Evolution Path

Four years ago, I went through what I thought was only in those fantasy novels people read. I transmigrated, and much to my surprise, it's in a world like nothing I have ever dreamed of. A world focused on evolving. Humans are just the start and from there every other species is born.

For four years since I arrived in this world I have been waiting patiently for the big day, studying, and reading everything I could learn about this world, history, laws, evolution, and magic, just for that special day I could awaken my species and strive for being the best, and maybe when I reach that point, I could see my family again, my loved ones.

I found myself in the body of Jason Valideir, a man who didn't achieve much in life or really nothing in life. Before I took over his body, he was a good for nothing, lazy bum. He had the least amount of care for the people around him. treated others like trash, even family, who does that? but maybe he treated others like trash because of an inferiority complex, or just stupidity, whatever it was, he was one of the lowest of the low.

He did have one thing going for him though, his looks. Jason had the looks of a top-notch model, something others would kill for, but the hardest thing to believe is that he never exercised. He never got fat or out of shape, ok maybe a little weak but he still never put on pounds. Another thing is he had a pretty caring family. His mom and dad were in the middle class, but they loved Jason even if he wasn't the nicest to them. He also had two older sisters, who were very beautiful, and an older brother with a wish to give his parents the rest they deserved.

I might not know how he turned out to be such a bad person, but I do know all about the stuff he did because those memories assaulted my brain when I transmigrated here.

As I was reminiscing about the past. Students were flowing into the auditorium.

8:50, ten more minutes until the awakening happens. The day I have been waiting for four years has finally come. I will awaken a good species there is just no other option for me, I wouldn't have been transmigrated into this world just to be an extra, would I?

"Hey Jason, are you psyched up for the awakening!? I'm just hoping I will awaken something half decent." A man came up to me and started talking.

Ever since I transmigrated here, I have also been patching and building up my social image, I didn't what to be known as the bully like the last Jason was.

"Ya, man, I can't wait to awaken," I reply to him.

"Looks like you have some confidence, could I borrow some of that I really need it right about now." He said sounding all tense.

To be completely honest I really don't remember this guy's name, I have talked to him a couple of times in the past but just can't remember it for the life of me.

"Sorry, man I can't lend any of my confidence to you, I currently using it at the moment, but maybe later."

"That's so mean, you're just going to leave me hanging here, cold bro, cold!"

As we were talking, I spotted an old man walking up to the podium.

The man standing on the stage had an air of wisdom surrounding him. Average looks for an old person, but there is one difference: he has a tail and ears of a dragon, a creature that everyone here knows for their great strength and understanding of mana.

"Attention students. As you might already know I'm Principal Evens, and I would like to congratulate every one of you who has graduated this year, but that's not why you are here, no you all just want to awaken, and it's my job to awaken all of your species. But as a warning to everyone awakening, not everyone is going to awaken a good species with a good rank, and honestly, most of you aren't going to awaken anything good and I want you to not feel crestfallen because you still have a place in society."

The awakening is by far the most important thing to ever happen in your life and it's the reason for the principal's dragon features.

The awakening happens when he or she turns 18 years old, this also aligns with graduation from high school. this event awakens your species. Your species can range from anything, from your common everyday dog to elves, dragons, spirits, and gods, yes gods. There is an abundance of different species on this planet, like angels, demons, and dwarves, that all lead back to humans. Human is a term in this world only used for the unawakened, after that, you are the species that you awaken to. Specific species are also divided into lesser and higher forms, such as normal elves, high elves, and royal elves, those are a few examples. There are times when a species doesn't have a lesser or higher form, for example, dogs, cats, and other animals. All species are ranked from,

Common (gray)

Uncommon (green)

Rare (blue)

Super Rare (light purple)

Super, Super Rare (purple)

Epic (dark purple)

Extraordinary (orange)

Legendary (red)

Mystic (black)

Very few have reached extraordinary rank, with people of legendary and mystic rank only in the history books as heroes and gods. All species start in a humanoid form, and as you evolve you unlock more traits of your species as well as the ability to transform into your species. Now not all species have a transformation and a humanoid body, for example, elves, dwarves, angels, and demons, these species only have a humanoid body.

One of the most important parts of the awakening is that when you awaken you have a variety of paths to evolve into as you grow. The evolution paths are based on physical traits as well as elements, no one can evolve into a variant of their species that specializes in an element that they don't have the affinity for, example if you have an affinity for fire you cannot evolve to follow the water element.

out of nowhere, the principal pulls out a rock with a blueish tint to it.

"Now to get started I'm going to call a class up to the podium and each of you is going to put your hand on this Mana stone and focus your attention on feeling the Mana power flowing out of it. as you do this the stone will awaken the species inside of you as well as glow up signalizing the rank of your species. only you will know what your species is, you will have the choice to share what it is or not. but over time as you evolve you become one with your species, making mutations to your body."

"Let's start with class 1A."

A class of 20 student head up to the podium.

"Richerd Velmoth"

A bulky guy heads up to the podium.

"Place your hand on the mana stone." the principal says.

Richard places his hand on the mana stone, and time seems to stop, as the room fills with anticipation. The stone starts to glow turning into a faint green color.

"Congratulations, Mr. Velmoth, you got an uncommon rank species." the principal said in uninterest.

Richard goes down the podium with dismay written all over his face. This made the other students even more anxious at the prospect of the first person to go up the podium getting a weak species.

"That's tough, you can only go to poor colleges with that," A classmate of Richard's says.

After Richard left the rest of class 1A to awaken, 4 more students awaken an uncommon species, and the rest got common.

Fear spread throughout the hall with the first class not having a single person with a half-decent species.

"Class 2A"

Another group of students walks up to the podium.

A couple of hours later.

"Elise phoenix"

A mutter goes around the room in surprise.

"Oh my god, she's so beautiful!"

"Is it that Elise Phoenix of the renowned family of phoenixes!"

"Ya, I heard she was transferred into this school from an agreement between the principal and her family."

"How does our principal have that kind of influence and power just to be able to talk to the Phoenix family?"

"Don't know, just heard that he was an ex-government official."

"Looks like we don't know much about our principal."

Little Discussions come to a stop in anticipation and curiosity about the up-and-coming awakening.
