Chapter 1: A Questionable Beginning

One day a man go on one knee and prayed. He didn't pray to God, made no deals with the devil, nor asked a favor of an known legend. Instead, he made an offer to the heavens.

"Take my left leg. Take my right arm. Have my left eye and my right ear. But give me strength to fight those who wish to harm my family."

The heavens responded. His legs disappeared, his arm removed, his eye blinded, and his ear lost hearing. Instead, his body became filled with explosive strength. He could feel the power he asked for coursing through his veins. Yet, he fell unconscious. The blood loss was too much. To have the strength he desired yet no be able to use it... what a pitiable fate.

Yet by luck he was saved by a passing doctor, rushed to a hospital and treated. He opened his eyes and recognized he was alive. With a simple prosthetic on his missing limbs, he could move again. Determination filled his eyes as he left to defend his family.

The Heavens continued their answers, and many more similar situations occurred. The Heavens did not discriminate, but it wanted an exchange. There was no bargaining, no return policy, and no stopping the Heaven's calls. The curse of Heaven's Blessings began, bringing superheros, super villains, unrivaled geniuses, and utter chaos.

It's nice to get your wishes granted, but what cost will you pay to make it happen?
