18. I knew it could kill

She found herself drunk in the clubhouse that night.

The clubhouse was filled with people dancing under the club light and in the vibe of the party music.

Lili sat there at a corner, alone. She was busy with the bottles of alcohol present before her and she was happily drinking them all up.

Just then she had felt someone tap her from behind and she slowly and drunkenly turned, rather astonished to see SiChen.

SiChen was in a black outfit and had a pale expression. The fact that there was blood on his lips had startled her she quickly panicked, coming to her senses. But then again, the scene seemed to have changed drastically.

Now she found herself outside the lonely night street. Looking around, it was quite obvious that no one was around.

She didn't intend to move but she Felt the urge to take a few steps ahead...and when she did, she was SiChen lying there, dead

The blood had almost covered his entire face and the scene was breathtaking. Lili's key squeaked as she backed out.

Drawing back, she had felt herself bump against someone. She turned to see who it was without hesitation and lost breath when she saw Sichen...

The alarm clock had gone on for some couple of times now before Lili jerked up from bed.

Judging from her mode of awakening and the sweat than ran down her face, she certainly wasn't awakened by the alarm. But a nightmare.

Lili looked around the brightly lit room as she sighed. She rubbed her hand against her forehead to ease the stress and the heavy feeling she had just undergone.

Then she got up from bed to get ready for the day.

After taking a long and refreshing bath, she got dressed in her Outting clothes and headed down for some breakfast.

On getting down, she looked to her right and saw that there was no one in the sitting room. She wondered Where everyone must have gone to.

Not too interested in that, she headed to the kitchen to see if she could get

see anyone but then met with a maid.

"Where's everyone?" She had asked.

"Well...The Young master...I mean the late Young master's parents had gone in search of the body since they haven't gotten any news from them. And your parents had also gone alone" She explained.

"Oh...I see" She nodded. They still haven't given up on their son, she wondered. "And.. isn't there anyone preparing the meal?" She asked.

"Well. They had Their breakfast earlier.."

"Does that mean I won't be having anything?!" She snapped at her rudely and harshly.

"Oh... that's not what I mean...."

"I don't care to know what you mean, Just prepare some meal for me" She ordered.

"Yes," The maid responded as she left...

Lili sighed as she looked around. S he caught sight of a room that had a slightly opened door. The heavy smell of incense was gushing out of this room.

Slightly curious, she made her way into the room she didn't know existed and she walked in, she was rather Shocked.

The sight of SiChen's image placed at every angle of the room shocked her.

The room was decorated with his image and in front was an altar built in his name...

The sight of the larger image at the alters made her stagger.

Lili felt slight dizziness as she stepped back. She panted softly as she looked at the image "You... what's with you...." She said to the image..." Are you dead or what? why won't you leave my head if you are dead!" She snapped, staggering back...

"No...." She shocked her head "I can't let you leave me in such a situation...I'll get to the bottom of this!" She quickly Turned, Storming out of the room and later out of the house.

Lili had arrived at The bar where she had poisoned Sichen. It was daytime so the clubhouse was not as active as it was.

She managed her way in and went to meet the barman she had seen. Luckily, she had found him on duty.

She walked up to him and he looked at her, raising a brow" Excuse me?.How may I help you?" he asked.

she smiled "I paid you for work that night. Don't Tell me you forgot such a handsome salary worth a year of your work here." She questioned.

"Oh...." He cautiously looked around "I remember you"

"Good, Now I ask why I paid you but you didn't do your work well. Do you simply want to annoy me?" He questioned.

"Oh? I did it well...I..." He lowered his tone "I dead body away and threw it in a lonely bush..no one will ever suspect" He explained.

She sighed " I didn't mean that... Don't you think, he's still alive?" She questioned.

"Huh? no...I don't think so, I'm a hundred perfect sure that he was dead when I took him away.

"His body was cold and all. All characteristics of a dead person. So it's impossible he's still alive"

She thought it through. She knew she wouldn't get much from him but came to try her luck anyway.

After that, she left the bar, still in thought. She too was sure he would die, so he couldn't be alive.

How can the dead come back to life? She questioned herself.

As she headed to her car, she looked at the little bottle in her hands. The little poison bottle.

She had looked at it and was 100% certain that it was a poison that would kill. She had experimented with it on some other animals and got the results. So it was Rather a mystery that he was still alive!

This got her the more worried. She was worried that if it was confirmed that he was dead on that night, then this had given rise to spooky speculations which would trouble her for long.

Because now the only speculation could be that he was dead, and had woken up again.

And Lili knew full well that if that was the case, then she was the first target!
