Dungeon Battle: Save the World Through Slaughter!

"We need your help!"

I look at the skeleton in front of me in confusion. The last thing I remember is a bright light and the sound of my bones getting destroyed. The next thing I know, I am in front of a massive throne room.

"Wait. Wait. Wait. Backup a bit. First thing first, where am I?"

The skeleton gets up and says.

"We are in my realm, Hades."

I blink at that answer and say.

"Are you Hades?"

"That's right! This is my realm, Hades! And I am Hades, Lord of the Underworld and God of the Dead and Riches!"

He made a grand pose, and it would have been working if not for the fact that he kneeled in front of me earlier. I release a sigh and say.

"What kind do I do for you, Lord Hades?"

"Bah! Forget the Lord part. Call me Hades. Talk like I am a fellow human. I am the one calling you here and need your help."

I nod and say.

"Very well. What do you need?"

"I call you here to help me save the world."

"What? Save the world?"

He snapped his bony finger, and a second later, I could see a hologram of a planet.

"That is not Earth."

"Yup. This is Vilan. It is one of the few planets under my watch."

"You are not the God from Earth?"

"Nope. Even though I am under a different name in that place, it is still me. This planet is dying, you see. It is my first planet, and because of this, it is rather unstable. To stabilize it, I made something called a dungeon. You know about that, right?"

I nod and let him continue.

"It is a place where it can absorb a large amount of negative energy. Sadly, humans and other humanoid races keep hunting them down. They have a system that lets them level up and get stronger the more they hunt monsters and even give them loot each time they kill a monster. It is not a problem if they are the only ones hunting the dungeon. Sadly, the dungeon owners start to think of themselves as Demon Lords and hunt their fellow Dungeon Owners. They forget their duty, and instead of purifying the negative energy, they produce more monsters and attack the human world. This creates the Eternity War between dungeons and other races. What makes matters worse is that the humanoid race starts to summon humans from other Earths, making the energy in this planet that is already unstable even more unstable. The other Dungeon Owner attacks the other Dungeon Owner to eat their core instead of destroying it and also releases massive negative energy into the air, causing the already chaotic situation even more chaotic."

I look at him in pity because I know that he is having a headache.

"So? What do you want me to do?"

"I need you to go there and become one of the Dungeon Owners to stabilize the energy of the world. Because of this job, you will have a hard limit on how many creatures you can summon in the dungeon, not to make things worse. Not only that, I need you to kill a lot of the Dungeon Owners who hunt the others and destroy their core. However, you don't need to worry. I shall grant you two Boons that make sure you will survive there if you are smart. What do you think?"

I look at him for a few seconds before saying.

"Why? Why me? I am but a regular human out of billions of others. What makes me special?"

"Your soul."

"My soul?"

"Yes. Your soul is the right size and density to let me mold your soul into a Dungeon Owner. You are the only one who can do it out of trillions of souls of all planets I rule. So! Please! Help me! This is my first planet and holds a special place in my heart. I don't want it to be destroyed."

I release a sigh and say.

"You don't need to bow. I get it. Fine. I will help you. My life sucks, anyway. I just hope this one will be better."

"It will be! I know you can do it."

I smile at him and say.

"Let's do this. That world will not save itself."

He laughs and claps his hands. I can see golden light covering my body and Hades waving his hand at me.

"Good luck, Richard. Please have fun while you are at my creation."

A second later, I arrived in the middle of a cavern. Sitting at the end of the room is a throne that is calling me. I walk toward the throne and sit on it. A second later, I can see a fairy appear in front of me.

"Ah! You must be my new master! My name is Lilith! By the will of Lord Hades, I will be your aide from now on!"

I smile at her and say.

"It is nice to meet you, Lilith. Can you show me how to be a Dungeon Owner?"

"Of course, master! First thing first, tap your throne while thinking of a menu. Think of a status window from the game in your previous life!"

I nod and tap the throne arm. A second later, a blue panel appeared in front of me.

"Dungeon name is the name of the people who experience it. Sooner or later, you will receive a name, master! As for the level, it is how powerful your dungeon will get. At the moment, I do not have that much space to build. To level up, you have several options! The first one is to survive for long. One point will be given each time you survive every week. It is the longest but the safest. The second is to kill humanoid creatures while they are inside the dungeon. Depending on the strength of the people, you will get more experience. The last one is something that Lord Hades extremely forbids: eating the dungeon core. It will give you a lot of exp, but Lord Hades will hate you if you do that."

I nod and press the first one.

This one is great. I don't have quantity, but I have quality. If I can survive for a week alone, it will already boost my strength by quite a lot. If I survive, that's it.

I shake my head and put that kind of thinking away, then press the second boon.

"Now! Let's talk about summoning creatures! First! Let's choose your starting race!"

Five options appear in front of me.
