She Doesn't Need an Appointment

His actions took him aback. He felt an odd impulse to yell at his brother to stop taking what was his. Therefore, he clenched his knuckles to suppress the urge to reprimand his brother and forbade him from calling Yonah that way.

If he did that and displayed such emotion, he would only expose himself, and Shaun would wonder. The last thing he wanted was for anyone to notice the feelings growing in his chest. No one is at fault for the lingering emotion that killed him deep within.

Everything was only at the wrong time, and he couldn't choose to be greedy. Could he?

Ross combed his hair out of frustration. He watched Yonah walk toward Shaun.

God knows how much he struggles to prevent his heart from throbbing with jealousy, extending his hand while begging her to turn around and stay by his side.

However, who is he to make such a proposal?

His girlfriend is her sister, and he is crazy about coveting something he shouldn't have.

No matter which angle to look at, everything is not right. He would only make their peaceful lives chaotic.

And so, while it's still early, he should turn his back and take the opposite path. It would be better to let Yonah be drawn toward Shaun. It was noticeable that his brother likes Yonah, and as for him, he must do the right thing, even if it kills him inside.

'Why would I get angry if Shaun called Yonah in such an affectionate manner?' Ross composes himself, concealing the ill feeling sprouting in his chest, and scolds himself. 'Don't be like this, Ross Michael!'

At that moment, Ross decided in his heart.

"You guys stay here. I have meetings to attend." Ross stood up from his leather chair as he made the announcement. He picked up his coat and strode to the door without another word.

He actually fled from that room before he could burst out, and he lost control of his temper without a valid reason.

Using the excuse that he has a meeting even if he already cleared out his appointments today, this is the perfect shelter his troubled heart could be in.

He could not stand listening to Shaun's joyful laugh and couldn't stop himself from melting every time Yonah's sweet giggles reached his ears. It was too unbearable for him to ignore.

Therefore, closing the door—not just his office door, but the door in his heart—was the wisest decision he would ever make.

And so, days have gone by peacefully. Ross put every ounce of his strength into work until his body collapsed in exhaustion.

Lately, he personally visits their subsidiary companies in other regions of the country as an excuse not to join every family dinner with the Villegas.

It was also good that Shenna had medical missions to the provinces, so his mom could not force him to attend such gatherings, which he now considers insignificant. Even when he opens his social media, he tends not to check on them when his phone screen is filled with Shaun's posts, where Yonah is always in them.

Shaun and Yonah have hung out every single day in the past couple of weeks. After his classes, he would go straight to the Villegas mansion and go home late at night.

According to his mother, Shaun didn't seek Steph's help. Instead, he decided to make his outfit based on Yonah's design.

"Mom, please, you don't need to tell me every detail."

One time, he could no longer endure the jealousy in his heart, and he snapped at his mom, making the middle-aged lady speechless and shocked by his conduct.

"I'm sorry, mom. I'm just exhausted from the flight."

Before Keira would suspect his outburst, he abruptly corrected his manners.

Brandon, his father, was so against it when someone yelled at his wife. He pampered her rotten; thus, anyone rude to her has tasted his wrath, and he and Shaun were no exception. It is why he practiced to check on his manners in all situations.

However, he was fed up already. He didn't want to hear anything about his brother for a while, especially since Yonah's name was always included in those stories. Yet, he couldn't tell his mom not to mention anything about Shaun and display his bitterness.

His mom often states that she would be the happiest mother in the world if he and Shaun would marry the Villegas siblings. She would not hide her fondness for the sisters.

Therefore, he started living in the condo he purchased near the company to avoid engaging in any conversation regarding the fucking arranged marriage.

And so, most of the time, he would pull an all-nighter and collapse in his office-enclosed room to take a wink by dawn, then wake up after a short time and start his work on a timely robotic schedule.

His friends and cousins keep inviting him to hang out at their favorite club or attend a group party within their circle, but he only declines.

Because of this, they thought he was planning to settle down soon; thus, he worked nonstop.

"Bro, are we going to prepare gifts for you soon?"

"When do we have a fitting into our wedding suits?"

He often receives a tease in their group chat, asking him when the wedding bells rang.

But Ross remained silent and avoided discussing it. Right now, he doesn't want to meet anyone, especially his family and the Villegas.

'Maybe it's the perfect time for me to resign and establish my company somewhere abroad.'

Ross has a plan to leave the country. He gathered ample information and conducted surveys. He also contacted his foreign friends, who were willing to invest in the business he had in mind.

That's right. He is running away, and he will leave alone.

However, fate has other plans, it seems.

VICE PRESIDENT'S OFFICE

"Mr. Varga, have you had a moment?" On the other line, Sarah cautiously inquired.

"Speak."

The other line's bone-chilling voice made Sarah gulp.

The VP has been constantly in a bad mood in the past few days. He seemed to transform into an impatient man, and lately, he never missed correcting someone's fault he used to let off but politely spoke with them.

They do not understand the changes in his temperament at all. He became cold and somewhat stern.

At first, they assumed that he and Shenna had quarreled, but the future young Madam Varga often sent a package of famous delicacies from every region she visited.

This dispels their incorrect assumption. Yet, they have no idea why their boss suddenly changed, which baffles them.

Before, none of them wished for the VP to go on business trips, as he was the delicious main dish of their eyes and the source of their energy. Their days in the office were like having a picnic in a flower garden in the season of spring. The boss was too generous and often treated them to dinner.

However, in the past two weeks, he has yet to plan for it. Instead, it has been like a living hell for everyone. Thus, they would prefer for him to go on business trips and only return after a month so that they can have a peaceful day in the office.

"Sir, someone wanted to see you. She hasn't had an appointment. Should I let her in?" Sarah bit her bottom lip when the other line did not respond to her query.

After half a minute, Ross put the document on his desk and leaned back in his chair. "Who is it?"

"Sir, Ms. Villegas wants to talk to you if you are available," Sarah answered nervously.

'Shenna? Why does she need an appointment to see me? Besides, she told me she couldn't return home this week. Is this a surprise, huh?' Ross thought.

"Miss Sarah, tell Kuya Ross it will not be long."

Ross was lost in thoughts when a sweet, soft voice reached his ears. Immediately, his heart started pounding wildly as soon as he identified the speaker.

"Sarah, is that Nana?" He inquired eagerly.

"Nana?" Sarah is unaware of this nickname; thus, she cannot understand her boss's question.

"Let Yonah in..." said Ross. He added, "And Sarah, she doesn't need any appointments in the future."

The reminder astounded Sarah. She even senses a hint of affection in her boss's voice. After a mere few seconds of pause, she finally understood. 'That's it!'

Yonah is the rumored girlfriend of the youngest Varga. She is now considered one of the future daughters-in-law she will serve and work with.

"Note, sir." Sarah turned off the intercom happily. She looked up and smiled at Yonah. "This way, Miss Yonah."
