The effect of the non-evolved leader

Abel had a creepy grin on his face when he had heard what the others were saying. " That serves you right", he said with the sickening grin still evident on his face.

Jazzlyn, who sat inches away from him had seen his grin. She was fascinated by the happiness he had build up just by seeing an evolved suffer at the hands of their own kind.

"What are you so happy about?", she asked faking a confused face in an attempt to hear the reason directly from him. "Oh me, just admiring the fact that someone gets to play my role in the school for a day", he playfully replied. "Your role? What are you talking about?", she asked this time with an actual confused look. "I mean, I'm the one everybody turns to when they want something to laugh about. I've always been the pinnacle of their mockery. Seeing an evolved be in the same shoe as I'm in makes me want to laugh my head off but I need to keep calm and save the picture for later", he explained in details.

After hearing what he had to say, Jazzyln now understood why he had that sickening grin on his face. Thinking a few years back about all the suffering she had been through at the hands of her sister had made the same grin appear on her immaculate face. What was this feeling, she had asked herself but there was no one to answer her. A burning sensation was felt in her chest which made the grin much more wider than before. She had also been infected by the grin pandemic.

"Look who is having the same grin on her face?", Abel teased. Jazzlyn had her cheeks redden up when she had heard his words. The feeling was a mixture of embarrassment and shyness. A girl from such a prestigious family like the Clarke, aren't suppose to potray these type of grin on her face but this was a moment she did not want to miss.

All attention were currently directed towards the stage where the girl stood with a microphone in her hand. Tears were running down her face as she tried to cover her abdomen. The damage had already been done and was no way off stopping the disgrace now. She had to bare in mind that her live was never going to be the same. Having a single boy chase after her was a headache and now with this unfortunate situation she would be single till she graduate.

Crack!

Argggghhhhh!

The sound of bones cracking slowly was heard as Selena tightened her grip around the girl's shoulder. The cracking sound was followed by a cry of intense pain which shook the place a little. Goosebumps had kicked in and most of the students were taken aback by what had happen. "Please, I will speak! I will speak! I will speak!", the girl shouted out in distress. Selena had a look of sheer disgust on her face when she had stared at the girl who was currently shaking due to fear.

"I'm sorry for disturbing a school gathering, this is not going to repeat itself again." Selena's face remained unfazed even though she had tried her best to ask for forgiveness.

"Tell me why Aurora isn't fit to be part of the student council and you are free to go, you have my word. A Blaze family member never goes back on their words", she said to assure the girl who still had tears gliding down her face effortlessly. "Ok, I said she wasn't fit to be a student council member because she is a non-evolved. They don't belong in the spotlight...".

Thud!

The girl was already flying towards the edge of the stage. Her action was swift because most of the people present at the moment couldn't see the cause of the sudden action of the girl. She was at one place for a moment and in the next was seen flying like a missile towards the edge of the stage. The girl laid unconscious at the place she had fallen. Her face had a cheek swollen so bad that it was evident to each eye.

Selena had her calm expression back after she had performed this act of discipline. She had no room for overpampered brats and didn't give a damn about their family's status since she was part of the Blaze faction's main family branch. Any act of indiscipline was to be shun by students since her teachers dared not to display such acts. With just a swing of her harmless hand she had knocked out an evolved. She didn't show any sign of regret or pain for what she had done.

She moved back to the podium while making a sign with her hands for the trash to be taken off the stage. Some of the teachers had complied with the order and the girl was taking away from the place. "This is how intolerable some of you can be. I do not have the capacity to contain your childish acts. All of you are the same, evolved or not, you are the same. If you disagree just get up here and fight me, win and you can do whatever you want. If you continue to do this, I will have to take away the trash....". When she had said this everyone had turned to look at Abel since he was the only trash they knew off.

In an instant he had his hands up in the air in defeat. "What have I done?", he asked with a confused face. Their stares had hit him like lightning and he was recovering from its effects. "Sorry, I can't stop laughing", Jazzlyn said while holding her tummy. The whole incident was very funny and she could no longer keep her calm. "I never knew you could be this lively? I really cherish that laugh of yours", he said when he had heard the outburst of laughter. Who knew she could smile like this since she had always been very quiet in class. Getting to know her was quite a blessing.

The event continued shortly after the trash was carried away from the stage. The new members of the student council had moved towards the podium in the same arrangement Selena had made. The three ladies stood at the beginning of the line from left to right. Aurora the girl in question was the second person from left to right. Most of the students were left in shock when they realised that she was a non-evolved. On the particulars of the ballot paper, they had written that she was an evolved person. Knowing the hard truth had changed the mood of the place. Although some of them knew the truth but not everyone knew it. Some had already regretted voting for her but they had no choice but to accept everything like that.

"Don't look down on Aurora, she has what it takes to be part of the student council. I have vetted and approved all of them through a trial by fire. They have passed through my fiery hands and they are not going to disappoint you. Trust me on this", Selena said to assure her students about the choices they have made. Aurora was not a bad person though her beauty was unmatched and unique in their own way.

"She is not bad though, such beauty will give the school the kind of reputation it deserves. Go Aurora!", someone shouted. Within some few minutes and most of the boys were chanting out her name. They wanted her to speak to their hearing.

Aurora was a blonde haired girl with blue eyes. She proceeded towards the podium with a shy looking face since she hadn't been acknowledged by such a crowd before. "Thank you all for bestowing upon me this power. With this power, I will make sure that the reputation of the school skyrockets throughout the whole world. In a way that all the other factions will be willing to bring their children into the school. Thank you all for your support once again", she said briefly and stepped down from the podium. Her soft voice had already charmed most of the boys that they begun chanting her name again. This time Abel was also up and his feet and was taking part in the activity.
