Divine Banishment

When Zyxel was ripped out of Hell and thrown into the Earthly Realm in the modern day, he went into a rage. Fleeing from an Angel who was hunting him. But to survive on Earth, first he would need to find a Sanctuary. Instead, he discovered a human with a strange aura about her. What was it about this girl that made him so drawn to her? Being the daughter of a Priest, Trinity grew up her whole life being religious. She believed in God and always strived to do what was right. So when a certain Demon came into her life, it made her begin to question everything that she knew to be true. Could it possibly be that everything might not be as "black and white" as it appears? Can she accept him for what he is, despite everything she had been taught to believe? When these two meet, both of their lives will be changed forever. And the veil between truth and lies will begin to unravel. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Discord: https://discord.gg/FUczSTp9f6 (A small verification check is required upon joining, as well as agreeing to the server Rules; before you will be able to interact with the rest of the Discord server) ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Disclaimer: I do not own the cover photo. The angel had ordered that Trinity be taken back home to rest. Being controlled by a demon was taxing on one's body, and Trinity would need time to recover her energy.

The people who stood watching as Trinity chanted to aid the demon, all wanted to put blame on her for being weak and giving in to the darkness. But the angel wouldn't stand to hear such talk.

"Could any of you here have done any better at holding back the darkness?" the angel asked as she glared at each and every person who dared to blame Trinity for her actions.

Everyone slowly began to bow their heads in shame, knowing that they could not have done any better, themselves.

"It is easy to cast judgement on another when it is not your own self who is being judged. It is quite another thing entirely to be able to surpass and do better than the accused." the angel spoke harshly.

Father Kiran spoke up then, quoting a passage from the bible. "Let he that is without sin, cast the first stone!"

The angel blinked emptily at the words before nodding. "Yes. Well maybe a bit barbaric, but I do believe that explains things quite nicely."

Father Kiran looked at the angel with a puzzled expression. He couldn't be certain, but he couldn't help but think that she had seemed unaware of the phrase until hearing him speak it just now.

He shoved the thought out of his head. Surely he was imagining things. He took one last look at the angel before picking his daughter up in his arms and carrying her home. 'I guess if you really think about it, the phrase is pretty barbaric now in this day and age.' he thought to himself.

As he reached the back doors, he paused in his steps. Without looking back, he spoke aloud. "You know, with all the commotion going on these past few days, I never did catch your name."

The angel smiled warmly again as she glanced in his direction. "My angelic name is long and hard to pronounce with your human language, but if you feel the need to call me by a name, you may call me Amara!"

Father Kiran nodded at the name and turned to face her, looking her straight in the eyes. "Well Amara, from the depth of my heart, I thank you for protecting and saving my daughter! If there is anything I can do to repay you, just ask."

Before he could turn, Amara quickly spoke up. "Actually, there is something that I would like to request of you."

Father Kiran nodded. "Name it!"

"Until we can fully break the banishment spell that keeps the angels from entering your realm, I am unable to freely travel between here and my home. If it is alright with you, I would like to request permission to stay here for the time being. At least, until I can locate and banish this demon back to where he came from. I am unsure where he may have flown off to, and I am going to need to hunt him down before he can cause much damage to the people of this city." Withdrawing her wings in tight towards her body, Amara squared her shoulders, and held her head high in determination.

All of the people who were standing nearby were whispering with excitement at the chance of being able to stay in the presence of this angel for even longer now, if the Priest were to say yes.

Father Kiran smiled at the request. He was worried that she would be asking something that would be difficult for him to do. But this would be a simple request. "Absolutely!" he replied, and nodded off to his side. "Stephen over here can get you set up in a private room, away from prying eyes."

This last statement made all the people nearby let out a sigh of disappointment. They had each been hoping that the angel would be stationed near one of their rooms.

Stephen bowed to Father Kiran and then to the angel. "It would be my honor to do this for you! I hope the room will be to your liking!"

Amara smiled once more. "Thank you, but do not feel the need to go out of your way for my part. I do not require much. I do not tire in the same way as humans do, so I do not need much sleep, nor do I require the need of a physical food to satiate my hunger. All I will require is a room to station my investigation from, into how this demon came into this world in the first place, and where he might be hiding."

Stephen nodded and dashed off with excitement to prep a room for Amara, while Father Kiran bowed his head in guilt. What would she think if she learned that he was most likely the one responsible to have let the demon into this world? He had been trying to make the world a better place, and instead got tricked in the end.

Without another word, Father Kiran gripped Trinity closer and turned to exit the church and bring her back home to rest.

Amara watched as Father Kiran walked out silently, with a smile on her face.

~*~*~*~*~

Trinity awoke in a rush. Her breathing was accelerated as if she was in a panic, but she couldn't remember what she had been dreaming about to put her into that state of hysteria.

Placing one palm on her forehead and the other over her heart, she concentrated on steadying her breathing to calm her racing heartbeat.

After calming herself back down, she brushed back her covers and looked around her room. Everything seemed normal, but there was something that just seemed off and slightly out of place.

She struggled to remember what happened, or how she got to her bed.

The last thing she remembered, she was inside the church with the storms, quakes, and plagues that had been ravaging the neighboring cities, including their own. She remembered seeing the demon fly into the church, and she remembered watching him demand something of her father. Then she remembered seeing their eyes locking on each other, and then... Nothing.

The rest was all a blank to her, and she couldn't remember what happened after that.

Trinity stood up and walked around the corner of her bed, past the empty chair in the corner of her room, reached for the doorknob; and then froze. In a bolt of speed, she snapped around and faced what once was an empty chair. "I knew something seemed off in the room!"

The boy who sat in the chair looked to be about eighteen or nineteen, and was staring at her in amusement, with a spark of excitement that danced in his eyes.

His face was breathtakingly beautiful. With a creamy, smooth, and dark complexion; dirty blonde hair that fell slightly over his eyes. Eyes that seemed to ignite a fire in her as he smiled devilishly in his playful manner.

He clapped his hands, with a mischievous grin on his face. "Bravo!" he said as he pointed a finger in her direction. He was very amused by her perception skills.

He had been shielding himself from view, bending the light around him to make himself appear invisible to the untrained eye. The fact that she could sense his presence, only intrigued him even more.

He leaned forward in her direction, grinning even wider. "I knew there was something interesting about you when I met you." His smile widened even more in delight as he shook his head. "That whole time that she spent by your side, how did she not see it? Well, you certainly did a number on her with that incantation I taught you! She definitely didn't expect it, that's for sure!"

"Who are you?" Trinity demanded.

The boy arched an eyebrow in amusement and leaned back in the chair once again. He spread his arms out wide as he grinned. "Well I do suppose that I owe you a thank you, as you provided me with the ability to stay in this realm unharmed. I couldn't have done it if it wasn't for your help!"

Trinity shook her head as she backed away from him. "No, no. You can't be!"

The amusing smile left his face as he seemed more disappointed. His eyes narrowed as he studied her intently. "You don't remember anything, do you? Maybe you aren't as interesting as I first thought." He sat thinking for a moment, tapping his fingertips together.

With a wave of his hand, he brushed the matter away. "No matter. This does put my plans a few steps back, without your memories. But I can make due with this. I'm going to need your help again."

"What makes you think I will help you!" Trinity demanded.

The amusing smile reappeared back on his beautiful face. "Because you can either choose to help me willingly, or I can make you. Either way, you will help me."

"Never!" Trinity declared.

The boy chuckled in amusement. "I really liked you better when we shared a single body and mind. It's too bad that you don't remember. But if you want to do things the difficult way, so be it. The end result will still be the same."

" ᒲᒷᒷℸ ̣ ʖᒷ⎓𝙹∷ᒷ ᓭ⚍リ∷╎ᓭᒷ ᔑℸ ̣ ꖎ𝙹ᓵᔑℸ ̣ ╎𝙹リ "

He held up his right hand and snapped his fingers as he spoke again in his foreign tongue.

Trinity looked at him in confusion. "And what is that supposed to do, exactly?"

The boy smirked as he stood up and walked towards the window. "You will soon find out. Oh, and before I forget!" He turned back around facing her once more and spoke two more words in his foreign language.

" ᓭ╎ꖎᒷリᓵᒷ. !¡∷𝙹ℸ ̣ ᒷᓵℸ ̣ ╎𝙹リ. "

"That should be all that is needed. Meet me before sunrise, you will know where to go. I'll see you soon." He grinned mischievously once more before leaping from her bedroom window.
