Down the memory lane - XIII

Before Rhys could understand what was going on, a powerful force knocked him away from Slyvia, sending him crashing far away on the ground like a rag doll. Dust billowed around him, momentarily obscuring his view.

It was only when he pushed himself up that he saw Killian stepping out of a dark portal. The dark aura of rage and power emanating from Killian enveloped him as he embraced Slyvia protectively.

"Killian!" Slyvia breathed out, burying her face against his shoulder. A wave of relief washed over her face as she held onto him tightly.

"Are you alright?" he inquired.

Slightly nodding, she replied, "I'm fine. I'm fine."

"I'm sorry for being late," Killian apologized, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead before positioning her safely behind him. Turning his focus toward Rhys, who glared at him with fury, Killian sneered, "You never learn, do you?"

"She belongs to me!" Rhys roared, his face contorted with anger.
