The Calling Of Soul Mates

'The Calling Of Soul Mates' is a poetic tale of love by Taremwa Asaph, and basically inspired by the life of Natukunda and Kenyagyi, the lovebirds from Kamwenge district of Uganda. Natukunda was a young man who during most of his teenage years had less interest in love. One day however, he happened to realize that his decision was wrong and being driven by immaturity, and this was after he discovered and developed an affair with a young, tender, wise and beautiful woman called 'Kenyangyi.' Basing on the desires of their hearts, even after the most challenging times, the two souls managed to build a successful relationship, which resulted in a healthy marriage. Just like any other true man, Natukunda used to spend most of his time together with his wife while building a foundation for their children, and their goal was slowly by slowly getting achieved. Unfortunately, during one the planting seasons, while he's cutting down the half-burnt tree branches to clear the ground so that Kenyagyi could find it easier while sowing the millet grains, a dry and partially suspending tree log escaped it's support and hit him at the backbone. This event turned almost everything upside down. Together with his Kenyagyi, they managed to spend together more years of psychological and physical pain, receiving every kind of hospital service they could afford throughout almost every part of the country. All this was achieved partly because of the fatherly support from his uncle; Eng. Nshabire Godfrey and other family members. On the 23rd of December, 2007, about 7 years after the incident, Mr. Natukunda finally opened his door to eternity. Following such a heroic experience, at her age of 85, Miss. Kenyagyi has successful raised all the children God blessed her with Natukunda, and despite missing him badly, she often refers to her love life with him as nothing else but 'The Calling Of Soul Mates.' The Calling Of Soul Mates consists of 32 poems grouped into 7 chapters.
