On a small island in the middle of the Atlantic, a frenzied figure unleashed a seemingly never-ending stream of expletives while furiously pounding away at his desktop. The crimson error messages flooded the screen, declaring, "Error: Memory integration is being resisted. Recommended action: Cease current course of action." Despite the repeated warnings, the scientist stubbornly ignored them, focusing on his futile attempt at forced mnemonic integration.

He clumsily typed commands into the system, trying to override the security measures he had implemented. Desperately clattering away at the keys, he finally hit enter, and the wall of error text gave way to a progress bar.

Exhausted, the doctor slumped into his chair with a heavy sigh. "Soon, my son, we'll be together soon," he whispered, gazing at the sleeping form of his son's clone. It was more a futile attempt to justify his actions to himself than a genuine statement.

The scientist's face sank into quiet contemplation when the silence of the lab was shattered by a blaring alarm from the desktop. Before he could even assess what had gone wrong, a wave of psionic force surged through the room, compelling him to seek cover on the ground.

The unconscious body of August continued to release an unending wave of energy, leaving Michael panicked and awestruck by his son's inhuman display of strength.

"My God, how can I stop him?" Michael pondered helplessly.

August's eyes fluttered open, scanning the unfamiliar dark room he found himself in.

"Where am I?" he wondered aloud, the void-like blackness surrounding him.

"It's not hell, asshole. And even if it were, you'd be the demon overwhelming my mind, trying to take my body," a voice replied, creeping August out. He couldn't help but question if the crash had sent him into a coma, trapped in a strange, lucid nightmare.

August's fears clouded his mind until the figure of his eleven-year-old self emerged from the shadows.

The older August let out a confused "huh" as his younger self, filled with anger, stepped into the light.

"We are two consciousnesses occupying this body, and for some reason, you, a version of me from another dimension, invaded my cloned body. This has caused my powers to go haywire and release psionic energy in a futile attempt to expel you from my mind," the young August explained in a monotone voice.

"Look, kid, I don't know what happened. The last thing I remember was tagging this rich asshole's house with my friends, and then..." The teen paused, struggling to bring the rest of the memory to the forefront of his mind. "I-I-I can't remember. Why can't I remember?" he questioned, feeling a sense of panic.

At the teen's breakdown, the younger August's face hardened, and his demeanor grew colder. "I wanted you to be in better spirits before I remove you, but oh well, unpleasant things must be done," the emotionless voice rang out. The small child levitated into the air, his eyes transforming, with pitch-black sclera and bright, inhuman purple irises.

Momentarily emerging from his confusion, August could only watch as his younger self activated his powers, eyes glowing with an otherworldly hue.

"Kid, I'm sure we can find another way to resolve this without you doing something you'll regret," August desperately pleaded as his younger self, wearing his face, floated closer.

Observing the void-like emptiness in his younger self's glowing purple eyes, August turned and ran, desperately trying to escape his counterpart. He sprinted through the dark expanse of the mindscape, his legs aflame and his thoughts consumed by the sole focus of putting one foot in front of the other.

"Good effort, but it just wasn't good enough," the sadistic child taunted as an overwhelming force restrained the teen's body, crushing him from all sides.

"Goodbye, August," were the last words the teen heard before the pain overwhelmed him, causing him to lose consciousness.

The younger August observed his older counterpart's slumped form with an apathetic frown. As his powers surged once again, he prepared to crush his older self when a wave of pure, unfiltered psychic power erupted from his own body.

"What is that?" the sadistic child questioned, bewildered by the unstoppable energy emanating from his unconscious form.

"FUCK!" the younger August cursed, hastily erecting a multi-layered barrier to shield himself from the destructive power. However, with each passing second, the teen's barriers weakened until they could no longer withstand the overwhelming force.

Realizing that defense was futile, the younger August dropped to the ground and employed his telekinesis to enhance his physical abilities. With swift bounds, he rushed to his older counterpart's side, skillfully dodging and ducking under the ceaseless energy waves. The only place untouched by the waves was beneath the still-slumped, now floating figure of the teenage August.

With great effort, he managed to position himself safely beneath the teen. Knowing he had only one chance, he concentrated all his psionic energy into a condensed blast that would shatter the barrier and end the invasion once and for all.

Time seemed to slow within the mindscape as young August channeled every ounce of his psychic power into one formidable blast, using every resource at his disposal to vanquish the intruder.

"Goodbye," he whispered before unleashing the full force of his strength upon the teen.

The league apprehended the frantic doctor and cautiously approached the calm body of August Creed. Batman, fully clad in black armor, turned to the Martian Manhunter, whose normally green skin appeared unusually pale. "Manhunter, are you certain he poses no threat to us or the possibility of another incident now that the waves have stopped?"

The sickly-looking Manhunter nodded, as if speaking caused him immense pain.

Batman swiftly entered a sequence into the computer, causing the machine's glass front to open. August Creed's figure tumbled out and landed on the cold, grimy floor of the lab.

Batman rushed to the boy's side, and the delirious teen questioned, "Batman, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be..." His sentence trailed off as he turned his gaze to the right and promptly passed out.
