Chapter 1: into the game

Authors note:[ Hii guys ...so this is my first novel and its a start of a great Adventure for me, I'm open to criticism and I hope y'all can bear with me and my flawRodneyread up to 30 chapters before deciding if you'd drop the book ..Thank you all for reading and supporting me]

Friday is considered the second best day of the week for both students and workers, with Saturday being the best day of the week, well unless you work on Saturdays . And for Rodney the latter Was the case as he walked back from school quickly to get home and do the one thing he proclaimed he was born to do, PLAY GAMES.

Rodney had just arrived home and had quickly rushed off to the kitchen to see if he's mother was there.

"mum!!!...mum!!?.. Your son is home"..he proclaimed..

Then he quickly realised how stupid he was to be shouting so loudly knowing his mother would probably still be at work, since she closed as late as seven o'clock depending on her work shift. He grabbed the lunch his mother had made him from the microwave machine and went straight to his room. He dropped the food on his bed and got out of his cloths and went to the bathroom for a quick shower. After getting out of the shower he dried himself and took out a new pair of clothes and wore before descending on the helpless plate of food, devouring it without remorse.

And when he was done eating he rushed straight to turn on his gaming set, plugged in a headphone on and grabbed the gaming pad

"It's game time" he said as he sat on the chair and began playing his new found favorite game named "THE HEAT".

"The one place where am famous" he said with a smile as the game welcomed him in displaying [level 32],

He got to work quickly moving his avatar in the game around a place that seemed like a market square, then a disturbing message popped up.[we are experiencing some technical difficulties] ...

He thought it to be the internet signal at home and cursed within himself..." damn internet ...always ruining my moment " and just then immediately as the pop up went down, the console began to emmit a green light "what the....."before he knew it he had been sucked into the game..

The game is an adventure game where you level up by completing quests and defeating beasts, acquiring high tier armour gear and weapon from beast cores

Not too far away somewhere in the city of ZOA where Rodney lived, two friends were seen sat in what looked to be like a living room playing the same game ."The heat", when they got the same notification

" ahh dang it!!

.. I was just about to finish off that beast!" One complained.

" Hey what do you think... Oh its back on" ...the other boy said and just then was sapped inside the game as well..

Leaving his friend utterly confused.

Before rodney knew it he was already inserted into another world, the feeling felt different yet the same.

It was like he was in a different body but yet it felt the same.

His appearance was now as that of his avatar having a short black curly hair with black eye pupils with a brown pants and white top and a long black coat with black boots.

He seemed to recognize where he was, it was the town square where all the shops are and the hunters come to trade their bounty for money and buy stuffs like food and clothing or some weapon or meet the blacksmith to craft an armour or a weapon with the crystals gotten.

"What are we doing here", "am  meant to be in my room"...

"what's going on"..

Different chats were heard from the people gathered as they were confused on what was happening.

"Look, it's dragon flame" someone in the crowd said referring to Rodney .As the game could be both offline and online. It wasn't exactly strange that they people knew each other by their avatars.

A girl with a pink long hair dressed in a white top and a black pants with red thread and with one leg as short as a bom short and the other reaching the feet with a black boot approached him.

"Hi am pink rose" she said putting her hand out for a handshake"

"Am dragon flame" he replied shaking her hand.

" Do you have a clue on what's going on here ?"

"I dont know how we got here ..all i noticed was all the levels have been reset back to 1".

"What?! Impossible...I worked so hard for this" he said ..." say do you know how to check the levels?" Rodney asked..

" Yeah just tap on your waist"

Rodney did tap on his waist from which a screen popped up directly at his face...

"Can you see this too?" He asked referring to the screen in front of his eyes.

" Nah..we each get our own systems i suppose ..i can't see yours ..you can't see mine".

The screen displays your power level, crystals, equipped gear and inventory etc.

"If I remember clearly,this is not how the game was played". Pink rose stated..

"Look.... The sky" a player screamed pointing at the sky as some red cloud began to block the sun and a face appeared in it.
