Mediocracy

As a Knight Noah saw himself as an adult and the rest as kids. His mother though has made it clear that no matter how old he was, he is still that baby of hers.

So, even where he came from, he was an exception, he was denied some of his rights because he didn't even know how to handle them due to his immaturity.

"He recovered this fast!" The Rank 10 Master that was outside the window watching all of them, said.

Becoming a Knight Squire required a good Physique, Willpower and Comprehension ability. Now, Noah has proved to have two of those to the highest standard they ever expected.

The next day, the kids woke up, ran, fetched water, ate and took a bath.

"Yesterday some of you have done bad, some good, some excellent. But that was just the initial phase. You will undergo one month of physical experience, if you have done badly in the fast, make sure to improve it!"

The instructor, Rank 10 Master announced and then he guided them into running again, fetching water, packing stones, and cleaning the school.

The damn activities were mundane. Every day Noah's mood became bad as he observed the school more and more. In one week he concluded that this school was very bad and not up to standard.

Shifting Steel Knighthood believed that a school was the most important place in society. As such, it should be well guarded and also well organized and provided. The people that should be teaching there, should be the best of the best Knights.

Because it was from the school that the new generation of the society, those that will usher knew the era were hatched.

Sadly, Floating Feather has only one Rank 10 Floating Feather Knight, the rest were all level 5 and below Squires. That was very bad and it didn't induce motivation in the kids.

In Shifting Steel school an aristocrat will bring his child but you will find him bowing to a cleaner or gardener or even a random guy sleeping on the bench.

Why was that? Was it because they have to respect everyone at Knighthood school? No, that was not the reason.

The gardener, the cleaner, the random guy as long as they work in the school were at least Rank 7 and above Masters. Wherever the Trainees looked up, they saw only Masters, and that pushed the kids to their limit to become Masters through that motivation and hard work. The idea of becoming a master will fill their mind as there was no other thing in their worldview.

But, here, Noah sneered at all of them that looked at him. They were all Squire.

'What the fuck am I doing here?' Noah felt insulted more than ever, and suddenly someone bumped into him.

"Fucking Tender, watch where you are going?" The boy said. Noah's face frowned, and he punched the boy in the chin.

The boy totter back and dropped the water he was carrying. His anger flared and said, "You are dead Tender!" The boy lunged at Noah.

'Let me smack a discipline in him!' The idea of fighting the boy didn't even cross his mind, that was beneath him.

Slap

Slap

Slap

Slap

Slap

Noah was calm, he dodge and slap the boy and dodged and slapped the boy. Gradually there was a smile creeping on Noah's face as he discipline the kid. Until the kid friends had enough of it and jumped on Noah.

"Haha!" He burst into laughter as he watched them. 'They want to fight me. Hahaha!' Punches and kicks landed on him while he was laughing.

It was really funny. If they knew how many times Noah has formulated killing everyone in the school they will be shitting themselves now. And in all those formulations, the action won't last more than 10 minutes and the only reason it will be that long was the Headmaster of the school.

Noah didn't know what Rank he is, and for that, he can't assume the outcome of their clash.

And now a bunch of kids that didn't even know how to hold a sword were attacking him. He felt like an adult lion and a kitties came to disturb him.

He dodged some punches and allowed some punches to land but then he saw someone jump in and shouted, "You are a disgrace, ganging on him alone. You will never be true knights!" Then he joined the fight as he tried to punch the kids away from Noah.

'This one is ruining my fun!' Noah thought.

The kid that helped Noah was named Shon and he now has a swelling face and lost his tooth. Noah on the other hand has swelling on his face that was almost gone healed.

"You recover faster than your friend!" Aunt Sweet Bark said, "even though, You took more punches!"

They were in the healer's room.

"I didn't take more punches. He did!" Noah said dismissively.

"How so?" She asked.

"I shift back and reduce the impact when their fist contacts me! It's a form of self-defence my father taught me to reduce injury!"

"That was a good one. Perhaps you can teach your friend too. You know, you might have not needed his help, but at least, he has a conscience to help!"

"Hmm!" Noah left the two behind.

Noah stood out under the dark sky of the night and remembered what he learned over the last week. He wanted to leave this trash place, it did nothing but annoy him.

To leave, there was no requirement, all he had to do was just work out of the gate without an ID card. He was a Trainee, not a Squire. A lot of kids that can't endure the training have walked out.

'Maybe I should join Moon Wolf. That instinct of theirs is great. There are also several good Knighthood schools in the town, Oak Dance. Rosy Blade is another good candidate, they took pretty girls only but a pretty boy like me will have a pass!'

Noah thought!

'At the very least, Moon Wolf has 10 Rank 10 Masters as instructors as opposed to here with only one annoying Rank 10 that loves bossing people around.'

He made up his mind and walked toward the gate, no one called him and no one stopped him but the gatekeeper.

"It's night. Noah Ark, please wait till tomorrow before you leave!" The squire said with a humble smile.
