She Can't Resist Good Food.

"Ms. Tan, I'm sorry to bother you with so many calls. And now, I came straight to see you without an appointment. I hope you don't feel any pressure because of this." He smiles.

She just stood still don't know what to say.

"I'm not going to waste your time. Let me introduce myself; my name is Rexi Nelson; I'm from Golden House. I'm Mr. Daniel Adam's assistant..." He paused for a moment to see Mel's reaction. However, he couldn't see any expression coming from her. Mel keeps calm and collected. Rexi continues, "my intention to see Ms. Tan is to convey an invitation from Mr. President himself." Now he said it with pride and dignity.

He hands Mel's a gold envelope.

Mel saw an envelope with her name written on it. A sense of unease starting to engulf her. She holds herself from accepting the invitation and halted her arm from moving forward.

Rexi realizes Mel is holding back. He then adds, "Mr. President would like to thank you for saving his child from kidnapping."

Now everyone is silent.

After seemingly forever, Mel finally spoke, "Thank you for the honor, Mr. Rexi. With all due respect, please tell Mr. President that he doesn't need to invite me to Golden House to show his gratitude. What I did is my obligation as the good citizen of X and a human being."

She smiles lightly and adds, "Also, I helped the boy, not because of his identity, but it's like an instinct to me. Whenever I saw someone in danger, I rush trying to help them as much as I can."

Mel tries to refuse the invitation as gently as she possibly could. Her actual reason would be that she didn't want to go to the President's palace. Mel knows herself too well. Meeting with people she barely knows, even if he is the President of her country, is not something she would be comfortable with in front of a big crowd. Also, it's not something she looks forward to experience.

But Mr. Rexi is not easily giving up. He's known for his stubbornness. Silently, he moves his arms forward. His eyes are calmly looking at Mel. As if he was saying he is not leaving until she took the invitation envelope from him.

Mel gave him two thumbs up for his tenacity.

After several friendly exchanges of words, Mel finally gives up. She couldn't stand standing outside for too long, especially now when the temperature feels like minus degrees Celcius.

After Mr. Rexi leaves, she feels glad.

Her eyes saw the golden invitation in her hand. She slowly took a deep breath and ran towards the MT Group office.

A few days later,

Every morning Mel does her favorite routine, standing in front of the refrigerator choosing the frozen food she will eat today. After that, she will heat it, make coffee, and then sit at the dining table enjoying breakfast with a breathtaking view of the Lotus River that lay before her eyes.

Her spacious house feels peaceful and calm. There is no noise, or annoying traffic sounds you usually get when you're in the city. But the TV is on as she could hear the announcer's voice reading the news from the TV in the living room. Other than that, she only hears the soothing silence of her apartment. She used to this silence, and she enjoys it very much.

Mel is spending her time at home in the past few days, busy doing office work in her computer room. She never even left her apartment. Today Hiro has forced her to leave her apartment's comfort to have lunch together at a restaurant not too far from the MT Group's temporary office.

On the first day of February, some wildflowers have started to appear. The green leaves on trees are appearing. The temperature has started to rise. Spring is coming soon. Mel out of her apartment building with a happy feeling. She enjoyed the warmth when the sun-kissed her face, feels very warm.

She laughed happily, walking towards the Wolfgang Steak House that Hiro had chosen for lunch, on the top floor of the W commercial building.

Today, Mel wears thick clothes as usual. But to celebrate spring which is just around the corner, she opted for a bright color, white turtleneck, blue jeans, and a navy trench coat.

As soon as she arrived at the VIP room, she saw Hiro sitting with Aunty Bella.

Aunty Bella looks fresher and happier, now she has started working at the company and has lived in the house that Mel bought for her.

As soon as Mel entered, aunty Bella immediately stood up and hugged her. Mel returned the hug tightly. But when her eyes fell on the table, her eyes went wide.

On the table, she sees various favorite foods; New York sirloin, Rib eye steak, Wolfgang Black Pepper rib, Colorado Lamb chops, different side disks, and Jumbo shrimp cocktail. Also, Wolfgang's crab cake, Steak fries, mashed potato, and many more.

Has Hiro gone mad?

"Hiro... Did you order this much? These are six portion meals, and there are only three people here. Are you sure we can finish it all?" Mel hung up her coat and sat beside aunt Bella.

"Boss, you need plenty of nutritious food. I know, for the past few days, you've only eaten frozen food, right?" Hiro smiled proudly. He seems to be asking for a compliment from Mel.

But Mel ignored him and went straight to enjoying her favorite Wolfgang's Crab Cake appetizer. She ate in silence. Hiro looked at Mel, who has stopped protesting.

Finally, Hiro and Aunty Bella dined with her in silence.

Hiro and Aunty Bella could not linger because they have to immediately meet a lawyer to process the permit for a new company, Star Entertainment.

Currently, Star Entertainment is in the process of recruiting staff and talent. It has completed its licensing, so today is only signing and stamp with the seal.

And for the office place, Hiro rented a floor specifically for Star Entertainment. MT Group Building is still in the interior design stage and only finishes in the next five months. So, Star Entertainment in the same building as MT Group's temporary office.

"Boss, I'm sorry I can't go with you to finish this meal. We need to see a lawyer soon." As soon as he finished eating, Hiro immediately gets ready to leave the room with Aunty Bella.

He added, "Actually, the appointment was in the afternoon, but due to an impromptu change, the appointment pushed forward to this noon."

"Little Mel, Aunty is very sorry to have to leave you now." Aunty Bella glanced at Hiro, blaming him. "If only Hiro could go alone, I would eat with you. But, unfortunately, I have to attend this meeting."

Hiro was a little surprised to hear Aunt Bella blame him. Huh!! Aunty Bella is a traitor.

"Boss, I promise to pay you later by taking you to eat at a sushi restaurant. Okay?" He tried to seduce her with food. One of his boss's worst weaknesses, she can't resist a portion of good food.
