Are You Crazy?

Mel approached the scene; she stopped a few meters behind a large tree. She carefully surveyed the crime scene; there she saw a big man in a black suit slumped on the ground; he got shot. On the other side, she saw three big men dragging a boy into a van parked on the side of the road.

Her eyes widen; she couldn't believe what she was seeing. Is someone kidnapping a child in broad daylight? In this crowded place? Are they tired of living?

When Hiro arrived at Mel's side, he immediately let out his frustration "B-boss, are you crazy? What are you doing?"

She didn't answer. But instead asked back with an innocent expression, "Hiro, are they making a movie?"

Hiro "....."

After Mel saw the kidnapper's van moving, she immediately ran towards the big man who was trying to stand up to chase the kidnapper's car. "Sir, you are injured. I will chase the car, and I will tell you where they were heading. And, I suggest you seek help immediately. Here, it's my cell phone number." She gave him her name card.

Mel turned her gaze at Hiro, who was standing behind her. "Hiro, call an ambulance, now!"

The big man winced in pain while holding his stomach. "M-miss, please chase them, use my car. I will seek help quickly..."

Mel didn't wait for him to finish his sentence. She already runs towards the man's SUV parked on the side of the road. "Hiro, you drive." Hiro spontaneously followed Mel's orders.

Mel gently pressed the AI sticker behind her ear and pointed her phone to the car she chases. "Max, do you see it? Track the car in front of me. Make all the traffic lights it passes red, slow them down as much as possible. And scanned all channels, find out the identity of the boy kidnapped." Only Mel could hear Max's voice; Hiro couldn't hear it.

Hiro glanced at Mel when he heard her talking to her super-advanced AI MAX. When he first found out that Mel had a super-smart assistant, he was even more amazed at her. His Boss is truly a genius.

He had asked Mel to make one for him, but she refused. Mel doesn't want to put Hiro's life in danger. This technology is dangerous if it falls into the wrong hands. They might be after anyone who has access to it.

For a moment, nobody spoke. Hiro is seriously tailing the car ahead from a safe distance. He doesn't want them noticing.

Not long after,

"Boss, I have found the boy's identity," Max said. "He is the son of the current president, Mr. Daniel Adams"

"W-H-A-T?" She was so shocked!

"What's wrong? Is there s a problem?" Hiro, who was driving seriously, was surprised to hear Mel shout. He glanced at her; her face looked pale.

"Boss! What happen?"

Just now, she spontaneously shouted, she forgot that she was with Hiro."Focus on driving. I'm fine." She said quickly.

"Boss, there is only a little traffic, so the red light is not effective in slowing them down. What is next?" Max asks her.

"Can you hack their car navigation?"

"Of course, I can. But I can't stop the car. I can only wiretap it and track where they are heading." Max adds, "Boss, based on channels I've scanned, 95% chances the boy kidnapped is the son of President Daniel Adams. The perpetrators probably are going to ask for ransom. Therefore, it is safe to conclude they won't hurt him, at least for several days."

Mel thought about what steps she should take next. She could make the van's engine stop instantly. However, the four people who kidnapped the boys looked like mercenaries; they are arms and dangerous. If she acted now without any reinforcement, she might harm the boy's life.

She glances at him. "Hiro, what do you think? Can you fight the four of them?"

"If they don't have firearms, I can take them easily." He said calmly. Mel believed him. She knows Hiro is an expert in several martial arts, such as tae kwon do and Ju jit-su; he also has stamina and excellent technique. Hiro's family requires their children to master several martial arts before reaching 18 years old.

After a few minutes, they followed the van in front; the van finally exited from the main road into the deserted street. Along the way, Mel could only see a few cars passing through the road.

"Hiro, keep a safe distance. Don't let them suspect we're following them." Ordinary people did not carry out these kidnappings. They are professionals. If they notice we follow them from behind, the result might be fatal. They might try to injure the boy.

The hostage is not just anyone; he is the President's son! She didn't want to act rashly; she would wait for reinforcements to come and hand over to them.

"Yes, Boss. By the way, why did you take the initiative to save the boy?" He was still shocked by the spontaneous action Mel did earlier.

Even though he knows special force members have trained Mel, most of her special forces' assignments are behind the desk. How is she becomes so courageous? He wonders. Did she get any special field training during her training there? Or, is this her instinct to help others?

Hiro wanted to hear her answer; he was curious.

Mel didn't answer him; instead, she asked back. "Do you know who that child is?"

Hiro glanced at her. "Who?"

After waiting for a long time, Mel did not answer; he glanced again at Mel. "Boss? Who is that kid?"

"I'll tell you later. Not now, I'm afraid you'll act rashly and make the car in front realize that we're following them."

Hiro was even more confused by Mel's explanation, "What do you mean, boss?"

Before Mel could answer, the phone rang.

Max said, "Boss, a call from an unknown number. Maybe the man who injured earlier?"

Just as she picked up her cell phone, from the other side she heard a man's voice which sounded deep "Hello Ms. Mel Tan; I am David. I'm the guard of the kidnapped kid."

"Hello, Mr. David, I'm still following them. They're heading to the city's skirt, heading to the border. I'll share the place with you." Mel bit worried, this kidnapper will cross over to the border. If they cross, things can get complicated. She hoped David would catch up with them soon.

After she talks to David, she immediately sent her coördinate to him. She hopes he will send reinforcement.

Soon the van turned left. There were no other cars apart from the vans and their vehicle. "Max, check the surrounding area." She needed to think fast.

A few seconds later, "Boss, there is only one villa on this road; they must be heading there."

Mel stunned.

"Hiro, don't follow them; it's a dead-end. Go straight ahead, and we'll turn around and wait for David and his team on the road before the turn."
